Within a week, she had filed a complaint saying he had exposed the daughter to drunken parties (in fact, a few dads and kids went to a family resto where the dads only had drinks) and sexually abused the daughter.
Based on her allegations alone, CPS took away his right to any custody at all. He had to go through long court proceedings to get even shared custody back. The ex hasn’t been punished (yet) for contriving the claims, even though her emails clearly showed a temporal link between her money demands and the false claims. That ain’t right.

I have to tell you that I read news stories every flipping day that children are being physically abused. Not whooped or spanked, but being beat.the.shit.out.of, locked in closets, tied up, starved, etc and they are given so many MF chances that we "wait until they are dead" to act. I thought Munchhaussen Syndrome was making yourself sick to get attention; Munchhaussen by Proxy is making your child,(or another vulnerable person in your care) ill, so that you get the attention "by proxy".
I'm not sure that applies here..unless Munchaussen by proxy is not restricted to making your child sick, but also doing weird and abusive things to them to get a lot of attention. If that's the case, it worked.
ETA: When a parent is making their child sick with this disorder, it's extremely insidious and totally hidden - a good example was in The Sixth Sense, when Mischa's mom (in the movie) was making her daughter ill by poisoning her.

Well, that's a little better. I guess my experience with CPS is that they tend the snatch the kids that don't need snatching and leave the kids that end up screwed....and don't even get me started with foster parents. Ugh. It's totally a personal thing but it's totally tragic too.

Personally, I think the only long-term effects of Botox use are immunity so it won't work anymore, and subdermal scarring at the injection points. But to risk ANY permanent side effect for something so uh, IMAGINARY as wrinkles on an 8 year old, demonstrates very poor judgment.
I think the more insidious effect of it is TELLING A CHILD THEY ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH THE WAY THEY ARE.

I think it's best to err on the side of caution. Botox is serious shit. Things can go wrong. It shouldn't be used on kids for cosmetic purposes when there's inherent risk in using it. Not to mention if you kep using it, you'll look like a wax figure and that may be the least of it. Long term effects are still unknown.
