SPOILER ALERT: Who's Coming Back For Season 2 Of American Horror Story
Sadly, the American Horror Story season one finale didn't end with all of the Kardashians moving into the house and the camera panning to that anti-christ child throwing us a "Don't worry, I'll take care of it!" wink, but it did end with the entire Harmon family living happily ever as ghosts who can still cum. There was still a bunch of questions that went unanswered (examples: Who is Constance's fourth kid? Why did Mena Suvari look like Michael Jackson? How come Beetlejuice didn't make a cameo? etc...), but shit pretty much wrapped up.
Ryan Murphy said way in the beginning of AHS that his original vision was to do every season in a different city with a different house and that's apparently what his ass is going to do. The Harmons are finished, that house is a thing of the past and spending your Wednesday nights humping your sofa pillow to a topless Dylan McDermott soaping up his nipples is behind you. During a conference call today, Ryan Murphy said this is what's going to happen next season:
- The fuckery will go down in a different house or building and the entire second season will have a new "overriding theme."
- Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott will not be the leads of season two. Connie, Dylan and some actors from season one will hopefully be back, but they'll play different characters. Ryan's talking to some cast members from season one about playing lead characters in season two, but he won't say who.
- In February, FX will announce the new cast, storyline as well as where it will take place. Ryan says that there's a clue in the last three episodes on where season two will take place. Ryan ended with, "Getting to tell a different aspect of what an American horror story can be [every season] is fascinating.”
I went to a few websites and read what commenters had to say about this shit and some people were chewing their own nipples off and spitting the pieces out at Ryan's face because they're so outraged. But I'm kind of into it. Who wants to see the same ass faces doing the same ass shit? This is kind of like novellas. It goes on for a quick minute, then it ends and a new story begins with some of the same actors playing different roles. My abuelita approves. But I just hope that Ryan keeps Jessica Lange as Constance. Jessica Lange could read the ingredients on a bottle of lube and my ears would curl out to eat more of her voice.
Constance should move to the Glee town, enroll her anti-christ son into that high school (He's a prodigy. He skipped a lot of grades, okay.) and let him viciously murder each one of those annoying bitches one by one MID-SONG. That needs to happen.

Once it was established that the spirits stay in the house if they die there, she was one character that I inwardly went...oh goddam we're going to have to see her stupid, whiny, crazy self in future episodes. She irritated me the moment she was introduced, everytime she appeared I'd think "Oh THIS BITCH. GO AWAY!"

Not sure I like the idea of a whole new cast, but it IS new in the relm of TV series and keeps it fresh.

This is why though I actually am keeping my fingers crossed for Grimm.
I mean, the X-Files wasn't horror (well, creepy as hell sometimes though) but they kept it fresh for a good 4 seasons.
So Grimm has some X-Files people and Buffy/Angel people behind the scenes, mixing the thrill with humor. There have been some misses, but that first episode and hope of things that may come of the team keeps me coming back for more.
I do agree that if the family remained in the same house with the same ghosts, people would have gotten very bored sooner rather than later. I also agree that Lange is key. Not just her character, but her presence. She is amazing

An interesting article I caught a week or so ago with Murphy, he said that (though she suspected it) Taissa didn't know she was to be killed off until that script came around. They did a full body thing of her (to be the dead her) but she didn't see it until actual filming. So that's a real freak out you see :) Can't blame her, who wants to see a decomposing dead you?

It gets STALE as shit.
A new house, new characters reinvigorates everything, and he can always bring back the older cast members as someone else...or not.
But I really feel like there should be a common thread uniting every season and that should somehow involve Jessica Lange, even if it is every few episodes per season. She is the reason the show is even being watched. And I suspect that Murphy will catch a significant dose of ADD in following seasons and this show will start to majorly suck like all of his shows usually do.

Provy, the creator said in one interview that it was all about the house being alive, that it knew your fears and the exact right moment to capitalize on that, same with the exact right moment to reassure you with what you wanted to hear/feel.

The only character i didn't like was Hayden...and it annoyed me that a gimp could swing a shovel hard enough to kill her.
Yes bookworm, Lange is the blonde (Constance). She got me when she went off on Addie during the first Halloween episode (when she wanted to be a pretty girl) and holy shit the stuff she said to her.

OMG even Provy watches AHS!? I'm so glad to see a lot of ppl here that watched this show. Now I don't feel like so much of a fangurrl or whatever. Ha! And the Tate/Violet shit was too juvenile for me but it's a good storyline for younger watchers.
I loved all the characters and am heartbroken they are going to switch everything all up:/ The bitchy queens were some of my fave characters. The dark-haired guy stole all his scenes! Love love loved him. Let's hope the writers don't totally eff things up. I was hoping to find out why the house is so evil and eventually it being destroyed/cleansed/whathaveyou, and the souls set free, that would be so cool.
Speaking of endings, I loved the Walking Dead finale and am really hoping for a decent 2nd season. These 2 shows are pretty much all I watch on tv.
Yeah no shit...what about the 4th kid?? They left way too much in the air to switch the whole storyline up. I am so mad at this whole idea. Absolutely loved this last episode though! A great ending all in all.

I LOVE this show and it is the only TV I watch. I totally called the ending and a new set of characters for next season, even though I am not completely liking that IF they do not bring back Jessica Lange in some way, shape or form(s). Last night's speech to Dylan McDermott in her kitchen was Emmy gold!

And we still do not know who her 4th child is.

For those that didn't get why some ghosts were allowed to leave, the only day in the year they are allowed to leave is Halloween. Constance mentioned that it's the only time of year the spirits are able to walk among the living.
Wish they tied up more on the finale, like why that house in particular held on to people's spirits, etc.

AHS was very good, imo. The only better show this past year for me was Sons of Anarchy. The first 4 or 5 episodes of AHS were gold, but the reveals, inevitably, would/did make it stale as it went on. The best "scary" moment was when the intafanta was attacking the 'mean girl' in the basement and she mumbled out "mommy". That actually gave me a nightmare.

Love this show & will be back to watch it for season 2 and yes (spoiler) the man in the rubber suit for the season finale was Ben. He was doing it to scare the shit out of the new home owners so that they would leave the house. In death his family and himself finally came together and found that loving feeling.
I have only seen one episode of this show and I enjoyed it. I KEEP forgetting it's on, and by the time I remember the episode is over.
And is Jessica Lange the older, blonde (updo) lady that smokes all the time? Because if it IS her I was fucking blown away by how good she is. I have never thought she was a great actress but she is incredible in AMS.

@Jintess - most of the men saw Moira as young and sexy. I think one of the cops asked Ben how he got anything done with her around, and the prospective buyer/Armenian asshole saw her young, too. I think Moira said something to Vivien about men seeing only what they wanted to see, while women saw people for who they really are.
I didn't like the anti-christ thing at all. But since Constance had such horrible luck with her own kids, I'm sure some how or another the baby will/would have died.

I actually think it's brilliant boomsy (if done right). I really wouldn't have counted on a long life of the show (heh) if they stuck with the same family and pretty much the same thing over and over every week.
I do think they went a bit over the top with the whole 'antichrist' thing. Obviously that will have to be dealt with if Constance moves.
Only time will tell but I certainly will be checking it out.

It's interesting how the ghosts could be seen (and kind of confusing) Moira was seen in her older version by everyone except Ben, until he put 2 and 2 together about Viv claiming rubber man raped her. Then boom, she's no longer the young lady trying to seduce him and she's old.
Everyone obviously saw Tate as the teenager he was when he died, even though in the Halloween episode one of the teens he killed said "I would be 34 now".
Is it that you seem them the way you want to see them, or the way they want to be seen?
Also, it will be very interesting how they explain Constance moving to wherever she will move (obviously she will be around in season 2 if they say that's when the 4th child will be revealed) if it's a brand new family, she would be the only tie to said child.
A famous haunted house story from Florida is of this doll that blinks and makes scary expressions and is said to have been cursed by a voodoo slave long ago and caused weird things to happen and even deaths to those who have owned it....maybe this?..

I sporadically watched AHS. Did I miss the development of the Frankenstein-like doctor? I don't know what happened there and what creature was walking around in the basement. And why did some ghosts get to walk around while others were confined to the house, or did I misunderstand that, too?

Thaddeus (credited as "The Infantata" in the Pilot episode) was the son of Charles and Nora Montgomery who was kidnapped and mutilated as an infant and now still haunts the house, down in the basement, wearing a lace gown that Nora made for the boy's funeral.
I sure as hell would have never guessed that by looking at it.
I guess I'm one of the odd people out who has never watched this series.

I got a clue from another site, and went to FX's official site for the show. If you go to the family portrait (you have to do this annoying scratching off of letters to get to more people), the fifth one says "Daughters" (meaning more than one) and then "Adelaide." There is Addie standing with a younger girl in a white dress and holding a doll.

Gotta disagree with you on that one. Moira is shown there as "The Maids," in both young and old form; I think the two Addies are the adult Addie the age the Harmons met her and the young Addie that told the twins they were gonna die in there.
It's going to be hard to come up with a cast as good as this one. There are tons of girls on the web who are shitting their pants over the fact that there may not be a "Violate" (Violet + Tate) in Season 2 because they have girl boners for Tate pretty bad.
