Stoney - after my shit last year I went through all my account and privacy and security setting. Some shit is set to custom, some to only me. My pics and info is friends only. My wall, friends only. Etc. I took about an hour or so going through everything to lock that shit down.
Oh, and I removed my name from the search if you're looking for friends. AND Angel_i told me how to hide my friends list. Lemme see if I can remember.

Instead of putting down DUI, one person said "I was driving drunk and some how ended up on the runway at the airport" lol. I laughed for days when I went over those applications.

EC - last year I got burned like Stoney, I'm not sure on the exact situation with what happened with her, but I was betrayed, BIG TIME.
It's hard, unless they confess or another friend outs them, to find out WHO it was that shared your information. So, if you don't know who exactly it was, you need to delete an entire group. I had to and I pissed off quite a few people.
It sucks to be betrayed, but it sucks even more when you don't know WHO it was, so you have to say goodbye to an entire group of people.

Don't know what happened and it's not my beeswax, but I will say, don't let ANYONE run you off something you enjoy. They win that way. Obviously there are some issues with people but if you cut them, block them, unfriend them (whatever the correct FB term is) then they are gone. Just do whatever it is you like, and if FB is something you enjoy, cut out the cancers and move on.
Just my 2 cents, and glad you are still here. Don't be run off from any place, here, FB, wherever.

I just went to my fb privacy settings to see if i could increase my security and there is now an option to approve people's check ins of you, so enable it if you hate that shit. I almost feel like dropping off fb altogether

I've got all kinds of pictures on FB that people have taken... drunk at the lake with arm floaties on, etc.
Last year, all my friends started getting smart phones and would "check us in" at different places (bars, clubs, restaurants, etc.)... My ex gf would immediately call "Why are you at the bar?", "who is so-n-so?", "Why are you skinny dipping with 3 chicks at so-n-so's house at 4am?" just questions, questions, questions....

Urmomma, I know people who get seriously worried if they get left out of a group email or someone suddenly stops responding to them on their page. They wonder if people are talking about them behind their backs. The level of paranoia is redonk. To hear them talk I think they never got out of junior high. urmomma, exactly. I was told that even if your account has all the security bells and whistles, your stuff is still vulnerable. I mean, all it takes is for one person to break a confidence. There are things I know about certain Dlisters that came directly from people whom they thought were part of their inner circles. People they trusted not to share information.
