Antoine Dodson Finally Gives His Thoughts On The Chick-Fil-A Boycott

YouTube star and the prettiest belle in Alabama, Antoine Dodson, might look like a felt seahorse puppet made by The Jim Henson Company, but he doesn't agree with his fellow Muppets on boycotting Chick-fil-A for their anti-gay marriage ways. While Miss Piggy can't with Chick-fil-A, Antoine Dodson can, will and is. Finally, the question that has been floating in your head since this Chick-fil-A shit started, "What would Antoine Dodson say?" has finally been answered. One less thing to keep your head.

After some of his fans asked for his thoughts on Chick-fil-A, openly gay 'Toine said on a YouTube video uploaded yesterday that he doesn't care if they have given millions of dollars to anti-gay rights organizations. 'Toine is going to eat that sandwich. 'Toine doesn't care if people say that every bite into a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich is a bite for marriage inequality. 'Toine is STILL going to eat that sandwich. 'Toine doesn't care if some say Chick-fil-A sandwiches are just breaded, hormone-pumped hate between two gay-hating buns, he's still going to eat! 'Toine is going to flick his micro braids and keep eating while not giving one shit what you think:

"I have uncles and aunties as well who does not approve of gay marriages and stuff like that, but they respect me. I don't care about one person's opinion or how they feel -- that's fine. Chick-fil-A makes good meals, and I eat there.

If I want to have a Chick-fil-A sandwich, guess what? I'm gonna have a Chick-fil-A sandwich."

Not everyone loved Antoine's response and so he made another video (below). Antoine said that he's not supporting Chick-fil-A's president's Waffle Fries 4 Jesus beliefs, he's supporting the regular people who work at the registers. 'Toine has his beliefs, you have your beliefs and again, he's gonna keep putting his mouth on that chicken sandwich:

"The people at the restaurant are sweet, and they greet me kindly. They treated me well, so how can I fault them? If we stop coming, them hardworking employees in that building no longer have jobs.

It's a picture in this world way bigger than what somebody -- one person or one group of people -- believe in."

Well, okay then, 'Toine, keep mouth fucking that chicken.

Now that we know what 'Toine thinks about this issue, I'm still waiting to hear from Sweet Brown, God Warrior, Spaghetti Cat, Chuck Testa and Rebecca Black. No but really, I really want to know what God Warrior has to say.

TiredofthisCrap, thanks. Hawtness. ;)

ETA: Do you remember that Indiannapolis cupcake bakery that refused to fill an order for a gay client and that created all sorts of bad press? They found some other bakery to fill the order but the incident highlighted for everyone how they operated and what they stood for. If that publicity drives some clients away even better. So too for Chick-already-forgot-them.

That's Cristiano Ronaldo in my avie.

I haven't eaten at Chick-Fil-A in awhile anyway, his supporters are gearing up to have a support Chick-Fil-A day. The sad thing is there are more people for prohibiting gays from marrying and they are located within the bible belt, where the most of the Chick-Fil-A stores are located. In the cities you have good old church folks who will eat there just because. Then the people who are just don't care, so maybe they'll see a 5% lost of business.

I used to work for Chick-Fil-A and can say I am not surprised on Truett Cathy's stance on gay marriages. He's probably not a fan of interracial marriages, but there's nothing he can do about it.

The sad truth is if there is a boycott, the only people who are going to be hurt are the working folks, not Truett Cathy. He's rich and old... his money will last him until he's dead.

Can we really regulate how a company spends its profits? Do we really have any say? I know a lot of companies invested in apartheid and there were calls for boycotts but not much was done. I believe gays should hav ethe rights to be married, unless Truett has real control over the decision, I'm still going to eat Chick-Fil-A. He can fund asshole organizations all he wants, as long as he's not paying an elected official.

Self-importance? How is not wanting to give my hard-earned money to a corporation that gives THAT money to factions that want to take away someone else's rights "self-importance"? I'm sorry, but this IS serious. Antoine is not all that bright. He's amusing, true, but can't see the forest for the trees. He's screwing over other people just so he can have some damn chicken! Great...so...in *some* states, gay people can get married...aaaand when they move back to their home state, that marriage is nullified!
What if people during the Civil Rights days had said, "let's just live and let live"? I reckon Antoine would still be made to sit at the back of the bus!
Is some crap fast food really all that important that people would turn a blind eye to suffering just to have some?

Stinky, you're the baby? We are three but both parents come from large families. Like what you said about no one being treated as a second class citizen. It's beyond being PC. Equality is the thing, if not, it's a civil rights issue. I am not afraid to speak out on that. To anyone.

Well, I thought about it some more. Team Antoine.

You know, why is it that Bible Thumpers go to Disney in troves (I've been there over 100 times, I've seen them) and they know Disney is pro-gay? Probably because they respect their opinion and just want to have family time without polictical drama. You don't see troves of families not going and putting people out of jobs.

---

It's not just an opinion. They give money to organizations such as Exodus International, which does anti-gay therapy, and those orgs that stir hatred against gays in places like Uganda. Not to mention the anti-gay marriage groups. If you're gay, you are stupid to fund your own discrimination.

Respecting an opinion doesn't mean supporting it. We regularly shun people who express racist or sexist views, even though it is legal for them to do that. As we should.

It's not equal to marriage btwn a man and a woman, we are still missing over half of our rights. It makes me cringe to see our community jumping up and down over this bullshit. Someone's bible should not dictate how others civil rights should be implemented. They support organizations trying to hurt the homosexual community by not

I'm not sure what bible you're reading, but the bible does not have any prohibition based on race. It does however make prohibition on inter RELIGIOUS marriages. By the way, Moses' wife was black, and Jesus had mixed race ancestry.

People like you are the reason Christianity gets a bad name. How can you proclaim to be a Christian yet don't know the basic tenets of your faith? Show me in the bible where God says not to marry someone of another race. Show me.

I've changed my mind on this one overnight. I think Antoine's natural charm swayed me unreasonably. I could understand if the owner just held his beliefs and left it at that - but the company actually gives money to organisations that make it harder for gay people to live their lives. This argument that it only hurts the little people is not right, The people that own them, if they are affected by the boycott, may find that the value of their franchise is lower, but depending on the contract they might be able to attempt to get the difference back. The person using Chic Fil-A's money is the one hurting the brand.

I don't eat meat and I'm sure there is nothing at Chic Fil-A for me because Antoine told us the fries are cold sometimes. I'm just saying that if a corporate voice like this asshole at Chic Fil-A says some stupid shit and gives money to people that hate equality and human rights, then it's not the public's responsibility to not take it personally and keep buying their crappy food so that their involvement in this business that profits off the suffering of animals, exploits it's workers, and wants to take the money it makes and affect public policy like a a rich hillbilly kkk bitch? Fuck that. No one has to think about who it really hurts. They'll work that out and McDonald's is always hiring.

And, what most people simply aren't smart enough to understand is that these are franchises. The opinions of the owner have nothing to do with the local business on the corner. It's run by a small, local business hours who works like crazy and may or may not have opposite opinions. A "boycott" only hurts small business owners.

----------------------

Not really. They pay to use the name and image of the franchise, so every branch contributes to the growth of the business. Yes, it's true that it's impossible to know what opinions lie behind every company you purchase goods from, but I would avoid Chick-Fil-whatever if they have openly expressed themselves about supporting anti-gay rights financially. This whole "jobs" argument is bullshit because you're going to get your food somewhere, and if you don't get it there, you get it somewhere else (where someone else works). Antoine Dodson is just stooooopid. Seriously, I am so happy that the Jim Henson company did what it did.

Zorba-the-Geek's picture

I dunno, I still love Antoine. He seems like a sweet, funny guy that you'd hang out with and he'd share a joint with you and make you laugh. I'm on the liberal side but live a conventional life (straight, married, children) but I have some really far left, raging liberal friends on FB, and sometimes I just have to hide their posts, they annoy me so. I agree overall with their agendas (except for the one who's anarchic and borderline satanist) but sometimes they're so filled with hate, rage, propaganda, antagonism, that I just cannot stand it. I might as well be at a Tea Party convention, except the beliefs are on the opposite scale. And these people aren't out there trying to make a difference, they are just spitting bile from their computers. So, in short, I cherish cool cats like Antoine who live and let live, and don't take everything so seriously and dramatically and with such extreme self-importance. I don't eat at Chick Fil A myself, but if Antoine wants his sandwich and waffle fries, so be it. And I don't think he's an idiot, or ignorant, or irresponsible for doing so.

Who would've expected Antoine to be the voice of reason in all of this? They are nice there, and they can believe whatever the fuck they want. It's not really our business.
