I hear ya. I have a friend who casually posted ON FACEBOOK one day that he had been hospitalized for trying to take his own life. (He is bipolar.) It annoyed me to see him using his (real, serious) illness and suicide attempt as a way to get attention on fucking Facebook! He is constantly posting to get attention: he has insomnia, he had a fight with his boyfriend, he got back together with his boyfriend, he feels bloated, what-the-fuck-ever. I had to block his posts from showing in my feed because this bullshit was all day every day and when I went on FB 75% of what I would see were his postings (including pics he posted of cute kittens - dozens each day).
It is also crying wolf because if someone does this all the time, people will tune them out and not take them seriously and then what happens when they are in real trouble?
