Don't get me started on Black Swan! I love Aronofsky's movies, but BS was the most overrated piece of shit ever, and Portman DID NOT deserve that Oscar!

I loved Roger and Megan's mom starting the affair. Normally I don't root for infidelity, but I make an exception for Don and Roger. I loathe Pete, too, but Vincent Kornheiser does such a great job with that character. He's loathsome, but can turn sympathetic, like when he was with Beth in the hospital in the finale.

The funny thing about that show is that everyone is alternately repellent and sympathetic. Each character just strikes a different balance between the two extremes. Boardwalk Empire is similar in that way. No one is wholly good or bad. Even Peggy, who Don said in one of the first episodes, "I try not to look directly at her. I'm afraid her earnestness might blind me," gives out hand jobs to random dudes with weed in the movie theater!

@EC I agree. Even my brothers (who will sit through any movie, even the shitfest known as Black Swan) remarked on his shitty acting!!! They NEVER remark on anyone's acting abilities. LOL

Louise -- oh, I can't stand Pete; I'd love to see him joing a S&M club and someone royally kicks his ass in on a regular basis and then someone takes it too far -- he's such a repellant character. He reminds me of all the up & coming lawyers I worked for. I'd drop acid with Roger any old time; he's so damn hot. And I cannot wait for the day Megan leaves the show, her & her ugly face & beaver teeth. I wonder if we will ever see Joan & Don hook up, though; I'd been hearing rumors they would hook up. And we're sure to see more of Sally; she's sure to have a buttload of problems with her fucked-up problems and having seen her step-grandmother deep-throating Roger.

Twat Muffin- I can't wait for next season. This past season seemed like a transition season- Joan's divorce, Roger's divorce and new affinity for LSD, Megan and Don playing happy family, fat Betty....etc. I think (hope) next season will be more action. And more Pete getting his ass kicked, because that cannot happen enough as far as I am concerned.

You know who else has done some pretty good straight to vid movies? Cuba Gooding Jr. I saw him in a movie where he was an operative who finds out his company has poisoned him and he goes bad guy on them. I was impressed with his being a bad guy. I just saw One in the Chamber with him and Dolph Lundgren, a good shoot em up.

Redskins just let a punt get blocked, Saints score with 45 secs. left in the half, Skins 20, Saints 14.

EC -- hey, babe! Now I thought Hamm was good in "Bridesmaids," but I barely remember him in "Sucker Punch." It was like if you blinked you wouldn't even see him. He was so-so at best in "The Town," but he really is superb as Don Draper. How he hasn't won an Emmy yet is surprising. You brought up his father being a drunken cheat. Jon has a very sad home life. He's admitted to having depression. His mom died when he was 10, his dad when he was 20, so I cut a lot of slack for him. To endure such losses at such a young age has had to have fucked him up. But I do not hope he is shagging Wiig. Like her or not, she is not attractive and I do not want him to be hitting that.

No, he was quite the enthusiastic cheater the first 4 seasons. He tried to give up drinking in like 2 episodes and it didn't take. I have no idea how any work gets done at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, because they are ALL always drinking. Then he took up with his unfortunate looking, but French-Canadian secretary, Megan, and got married between seasons 4 and 5. We (every Mad Men fan ever) all hate Megan and he stopped cheating. BUT at the conclusion of season 5, they sort of opened that door for him to start man-whoring again. He's super boring when he's not man-whoring and he wasn't even that good at work this past season.

You're right, Lively gets shit for her acting in that movie, and she was actually a little better than Hamm, if you can compare two really wooden and try too hard actors.

I kinda feel bad for sanchez since the fans are not behind him and people are just waiting to see if tebow has to step in. And I've hated tebow since Florida. But Eva fucking Longoria? Ugh. His father was a cheater and drunk, and I am pretty sure he isn't much different. Like you said, she turns a blind eye to all his faults, because he is Jon Hamm.

I am pretty sure once Mad Men ends, which is after season 7, if memory serves, he will not have much going for him, because he can't act, other than as Don Draper. I have seen everything he has done on the big screen and he is really bad. I was almost embarrassed for him in The Day the Earth Stood still and The Town. He was awful trying to emote grief in Stolen, and he was almost comic in Sucker Punch, and do not get me started on Howl and Bridesmaids! He better hope he continues his friendship with Kristin Wiig, because she will give him parts in her movies, which will be lucky for him, because outside of favors from Jenny and Kristin, his acting gigs will dry up.

Foxxy, back then I was a big fan. When Dan Snyder bought the team that began to change and got worse year after year. I've been saying for years they needed to invest in the O line, they didn't (much) and come pre season I got sucked into the hype. The free agent thing never made sense to me, you give a guy a boatload of money for what he's done for another team and expect that money to compensate for the poor talent in other positions. But they always blame the guy they gave the money to. I hate the Shanahans, hate how they did McNabb even if he was washed up.

Even if they win I'll be reluctant to jump on the bandwagon. This is a very fickle town.

You make a lot of spot-on observations, but this is one of the best. I'm sure it's gotten even more symbiotic recently, since he's got the hit show.
