Actually the reason why Goodwill is overpriced and they are is because over 50% of the profit goes to helping people get jobs (usually outside of Goodwill). So money is spent for Case Managers, participants clothing needs, tools, occupational trainings etc. And yes, I can vouch for this because without retail sales; most of us Social Workers would be unemployed... lol

As an avid thrift store shopper, Goodwill should change its name to "Greedwill".
The prices they charge for things that are donated is outrageous. Especially when they charge more for a department store donated item than the actual cost of the item when it was actually sold in said department store. I've always wondered how much the CEO's of places like this make. Disgusting.

Why would Goodwill even have a commercial? For the record, Goodwill is not the same thing as the Salvation Army. Far from it. It's a scam, though. They do nothing for the poor and actually take anything of value from their stores and sell it on their own auction website. You can't get anything in there worth anything, and the stuff they do keep is insanely overpriced. They also pay their executives huge amounts and refuse to donate items to anyone.
