Anna Nicole Smith's Daughter Is A Guess Girl Now
Almost 20 years after Anna Nicole Smith was a Guess girl, her 6-year-old daughter with Larry Birkhead, Dannielynn Birkhead, is starring in a campaign for Guess Kids. There are two things I can't believe: 1) Dannielynn is six years old and; 2) I'm writing about Guess Jeans. It seems like it was just yesterday when I was begging my mother to buy me Guess acid wash jeans with a matching jacket. One of her co-workers told her there was a Guess store in Tijuana that sold everything for 50% off and so she dragged me one there one weekend. That shit wasn't Guess label. It was more like GuessWhosGettingTrickedByThisKnockOff label....but I still bought acid wash jeans there.
The NYDN says that Dannielynn's ads will be all over buses and billboards starting in January. Larry Birkhead says that Guess came to them first and that Dannielynn is really excited about modeling for the same label as her mom. Larry also said that he's not enrolling in Pimp Mama Kris' School Of Whoring anytime soon, because this is going to be Dannielynn's only modeling gig for now:
"People have said she's already stepping into her mom's shoes, and that's very broad. I want to be clear this was just a tribute. She's still a kid at heart, and she's going to stay that way as long as possible. It's really a tribute to her mom more than anything. She's not going to be a model.
Her mom's history with Guess was very positive. The ads were iconic and timeless. She asked me if she was going to be on the shopping bags like her mom. She was really excited about it. She had great time on the shoot. It was really just a day at the beach, playing in the sand."
I just hope Larry is telling the truth and we won't see Dannielynn as the new face of Trimspa for Kids.
I'm not sure how to feel about this. Dannielynn being in the spotlight is kind of weird, but somebody has to model those clothes and since Honey Boo Boo Chile already has an exclusive contract as the face of Piggy Wiggly's children's clothing line, it might as well be Dannielynn.
And these ads would've been so much better if Sugar Pie was in them.

I saw the ET segment on this photo shoot and it breaks your heart for the little girl. It is so sad to watch her talking to pictures and statues of her mom and putting lipgloss on them. I hope Larry does right by her, but you can tell that this poor little thing misses the mother she never knew.
I hope this is truly a one-off experience for her.
She really was a lovely woman. It's such a shame that things had to end the way they did.
I truly believe she was a good person. She just had problems like most of us. Drugs and other problems can really screw up a life.
Her daughter seems like a very pretty and decent little girl. I agree with posters on here - just take her home and let her be a kid. She needs a STRONG foundation. She can always model while she is in college or something - to pay her tuition.

And I'm okay with this, I always thought Birkhead was sincere. I like the idea. It's not like he's posting pictures of her baby cleavage on a Twitter account begging for attention. The pictures are legit, classy and tasteful. She is wearing Guess little girls clothes, not hooker clothes.
That said, I hope in her real life she lays low and goes off to study physics at Harvard or something. The whole situation with Anna Nicole and this girl never getting to know her mom is sad enough already...doesn't need any more trash or tragedy.
The sad cycle begins again. How unfair.
She's beautiful just like her mama. This was a great idea, now take her back to Podunk and let her be a regular kid. Don't start her down this road.

I've written a letter to MK...saying...I...love...youuuuuu.
Until this, I would have said her father has done a good job of balancing trying to raise the kid normally with public interest. He's done an annual controlled piece with ET. This year's was a lot more camera/personal time. The kid is definitely going to be a handful.
This... is different. Not sure how much photography work he does now or DL is set-up financially. The house was quite posh. No reason to pimp the kid out no matter how much she looks like her mom or she loves the camera. Kid has Anna-Nicole's genes - let her grow up as normal as possible. When she's an adult, when she's old enough to understand what that lifestyle did to her mom, then DL can decide.
She is a beautiful little girl. I really hope she is not consumed by the industry like her mom was. :(

I don't think it's that big of a deal. Her mom was a model, her dad is a photographer, she probably will end up in entertainment. It's no different than the Smith brats, Taterhead, Laura Dern, Melanie Griffith, Fishsticks, AngieHo or any of us who do what our parents did for a living. The pictures are innocuous so far, hopefully they stay that way.

I know this is odd coming from me, but I think this is wonderful.
I met the Birkhead family several times, and they are very sweet people. Larry is extremely attractive in person and seemed like a stand up guy. He was cordial and very friendly. He was always positive and smiling. The family has done an excellent job of keeping her grounded. They don't associate with the demons that plagued Anna's life.
Larry is a professional photographer and Anna was one of the most beautiful models on Earth, so it's natural that the daughter would end up in the industry.
I wish her and her family much luck and success.

Those kids look like they need antidepressants, as does this one. Kid models should look happy, and I think that depressed look just plain exploits them. They become characterless and therefore completely objectified. I wonder if that's why this main, picture disturbs people. She doesn't look like a child, but is making the face of a serious model.

She is a beautiful child, the pictures are tasteful, and a reminder of her Mom's stunning beauty. Before the trimspa, and Anna becoming a sad drugged up clown. Her life got 1000 times better, without Howard Stern, and I am sorry to say, her own Mother. Anna and Howard were one effed up pair, and Dannilynns brother Daniel didn't make it out alive.

AN never got anything from her dead hubs's estate. I don't think her estate has either, after the smoke has largely cleared.

Perhaps Larry Birkhead is securing a trust fund for his daughter's future. I don't see anything wrong with that, if that's the case, which I believe it is. Birkhead doesn't troll this girl in front of the media a la Suri or Nahla. He's very low key with her and appears to be a great, devoted dad. Making sure his daughter has some bucks in the bank so she doesn't have a rough future seems like an act of love, not exploitation. As others have said, the photos are tasteful. She is a lovely little girl. I wish only the best for her.

I don't see anything wrong with these ads. The little girl is beautiful and it's tastefully done, she's not dressed in some oversexed beauty pageant outfit. I really hope Larry is doing this for her well being, I remember when he let the Entertainment Tonight cameras film her eye operation which I thought was tacky as hell.

It's creepy to me cause the ads do not advertise children's clothes. I don't think children should be selling adult clothes because even if they are fully covered, it seems like they are being sexualized. Anna's ads were "sexy"

I didn't have a strong negative reaction like many of you. One campaign, the pictures are cute. Get back to me if she starts modeling even after her father publicly stated she wouldn't.
But really, this little girl is very pretty, she could easily book ads. Does every parent that lets their kid be a child model deserve to be scorned? At 6 years old kids have very distinct personalities. They love the camera or they hate it. If they love it then what's the harm in letting them do a few ads? The parenting comes in prioritizing their life for them because THAT they don't know at 6. So school/homework before pictures, always, but if there's extra time I don't see the problem.
