I don't think whether someone was gay or straight was talked about in the 50's, 60's and heck even 70's. People of course talked but not in public.
I didn't know anything about homosexuality until I was in high school. Probably shouldn't admit that.

TR, I dunno, was he openly gay in the 50's, I mean openly out as we know it today? I mean it's obvious to us watching his clips but I wonder how he was handled in interviews and such back then, how he came off to people not in the know. Doesn't matter of course, he's one of a kind.

Whamo, I have a soft spot for the Goo Goo Dolls. I think their earlier stuff is much better, and their songs were SO overplayed. I loved Black Balloon when it first came out but they played it so goddamn much I never want to hear it again. Same with Iris.
that said I've always found Johnny Rzeznik (how do you pronounce that anyway?) strangely hot, in a Bon Jovi sort of way.
