As far as I know, the last time Jay-Z took the subway, he did it as a publicity stunt and that was over two long months ago. Jay-Z forgot something very important down there: his beloved sister! Jay-Z's sister has been waiting for him down in the subway and she finally got tired of waiting and came back up to the surface. Luckily for Jay-Z's sister, local news reporter Checkey Beckford (which is a hot name and sounds like the name of the biggest nerd in a John Hughes movie) was there for her when she got out of the subway. I thought I'd take a break from wrapping presents to say that I hope this night finds each of you happy and healthy. The last day or so has been heart wrenching, to say the least, and I'm just an aunt. To all of you parents out there, you get all of my respect and awe. Worrying about my nieces and nephews have kept me awake many nights, I can't imagine being a parent.
Those of you dealing with pain (physical or emotional), I sincerely hope you are able to find solace--no matter the source. The holidays are such a wonderful time of year for some, but they can be very troubling for others.
Enough of my Kumbaya rant and back to my ribbon tying and wassail sipping.
