Open Post: Hosted By Kate Bosworth And Michael Polish's Side-Eye

I couldn't tell you the name of the last movie, TV show, community theater production or public access broadcast that Kate Bosworth was in, but kadooze (copyright: Ramona Singer) to her for still getting invited to crap. Kate was a guest at a Golden Globes pre-party thrown by Audi and the bitch posed like Lea Michele in a Barbizon photo shoot. She went for it. The photographers were all yelling at her, "Who are you again?", but she didn't let that stop her from giving them A-list FACE! BODY! TURN! FACE! Since being Kate Bosworth was going to do it, bitch had to give them a reason to click their cameras and she did.

Please ignore Michael Polish's "yes, this trick always walks like she's on a runway in Paris" side-eye, because he's obviously coming from a place of sheer jealousy.

Okay, so it's a bit late ....but just wondering if anyone has a good Corn Dip recipe to share. Last time I made it with a friend and I think we added too many red onions. Doesn't have to be authentic southwest or anything. Most of the recipes I have seen online call for canned corn, but I'd rather use fresh corn I think.

Foxxy, you know what it is? This area is just so damn desperate for a return to being a winning franchise, once they started winning people, even professionals, started penciling in wins before they even played the games (as if the team were that solid talent/personnel wise.)

There's a solid faction that hates the Shanahans and the things they've done, even openly speculating whether Dan Snyder (the real problem)would dump him if something better presented itself.

But RG is inspirational and the whole team got galvanized. Shanahan started getting good press, maybe eased a little pressure off him.

Once it came down to this game and it started looking bad, all the pressure and desperation to win came bubbling up. They let a 22 yr old mesmerize and bamboozle them into believing he could save the day on that bum leg when they had a perfectly good backup who won 1 1/2 games for them.

Since everyone is adding their 2 cents worth, here is mine.

1. Don't tell hubby about the money. Don't leave a paper trail.

2. Money markets only average .5% return.

3. Gold is low right now but is expected to go to $2200 later this year especially since we are projected to have 0 growth this year and the value of the dollar is stagnant.

4. Buy gold now, keep it stashed, cash it out later this year; you should make some profit.

@Rande -- and now add this to what you just said:

Griffin was playing with a mild sprain of the lateral collateral ligament in that knee. He aggravated the injury in the first quarter but persuaded Shanahan to allow him to remain in the game before leaving for good in the fourth quarter after his knee buckled and he fell to the turf as he tried to handle a low snap. Shanahan said Monday he continues to believe he made the right decision by leaving Griffin in the game....“Any time there are old injuries, you need to do a physical exam. … When I find out the extent of it, I’ll let you know,” Shanahan said.

and when you know all of this for the sake of your team's performance and the player's health and career, you also TAKE THE FUCKING PLAYER OUT AS SOON AS HE RE-INJURES IT, you sleazy stupid fuck. i hate mike shanahan worse than belichek, and that is really saying something there

Poor RG3, huh? He's a gamer but maybe a tad too gung-ho. Russell Wilson made the two coolest plays of any playoff game yet--both in the same quarter.
----------------------------------------------

Rande, he's got the whole region under his spell, so much so the damn coach couldn't step back and LOOK AT THE STATISTICS and see they couldn't move the ball because RG couldn't move. That's only the key to the offense, having a qb as a running threat. Dude had nearly 80% accuracy passing during the year but he was throwing high all night. He couldn't plant his damn foot to pass, what's worse is the backup got few snaps all week and they deactivated Rex Grossman, the other RG3. Shanahan is an overrated arrogant idiot.

Hekki, What you could do is set up a payroll direct deposit to your joint account and then do an automatic transfer out (shortly after) to a separate account just for bills. This way, the family is paid first and only what is left over can be spent. The account for bills should have a separate debit card, preferably from a different bank. Keep it in one name if it's likely he would spend it. Then keep the card somewhere safe.

As for the insurance money, normally I'd say don't keep it a secret from your spouse but since you say you have no savings for emergencies, this would be a good time to open a savings account in your name and start putting in small amounts. Keep it in your name and preferably in a money market with the card safely stored away.

Everybody chuckled about the crappy ass field, thinking it would slow the Seahawks. It did but it also screwed RG3. About $50,000 is the cost of re-sodding the thing, they could've done it before the Dallas game.

Hekki-

Normally, I'd say it's bad news to keep something like that from your spouse, but we (me & the mister) are struggling financially so I understand your thinking. No kiddos for us yet, thank goodness. But, Mama JTROS always told me to have an emergency stash because you should never rely 100% on someone else for money. You never know what will happen - relationship may fail, you may have a sick relative you need to visit, your S.O. may fall ill (or die), etc. Anyway, I've gotten a few grand (as a gift or bonus or whatever) that the mister said would be mine or "just for emergency", but, of course he spent it like it was all his because I didn't have 100% control over it. So, no emergency fund now.

Lesson learned, I guess. If I want the money to last, I have to tuck it away where he can't get it. And, maybe I need to keep it secret.

But, this is just my experience.

I am all about openness and honesty in a relationship, but I am also a realist. My mother and grandmother always said a woman should always put a little to the side that her husband doesn't know about. I agree, especially in this economy. Put some aside in a conservative investment--something that you don't have easy access to. Put the majority in a secret savings account and keep a small bit as cash on hand. Is it something you will get a 1099 for come next tax year? If so, then you might need to spill the beans. Otherwise, keep your lips shut.

Hekki - you can't just be honest that you would like keep it 'safe' for awhile and he would respect it and not spend it? Sorry if it seems like a silly question. It's just that we are pretty poor here too (although no kids) and I do keep a stash that he knows something about but agrees not to touch unless we need it for emergencies. I've dipped into it for vet bills. He isn't good at not spending money either. Even though I said we couldn't afford to (and trust, we could not!) he goes and gets an XBox. Grr. I'm here with one coat that I have to wear everywhere even though it's too bloody warm half the time.

I know this is a simplification if things but I bet your rent is way more than our mortgage - is there anyway you can move out of Manhattan?

I know renting is just part of life in big cities but it's just dead money with zero return. Could you rent somewhere cheaper or am I just a simple country bumpkin who doesn't get it? Don't you have monthly fees too or is that just owners?
