Today's Moment Of Shade Brought To You By Mimi

Starting next week, American Idol is trying it again and we'll all get to see the scripted drama between Mimi and Nicki Minaj play out as Ryan Gaycrest cries over what he's become into a custom-made silicone mold of Simon Cowell's tits. To promote the #1 scripted telenovela on network TV, Mimi did an interview with her VERY good friend (so says Babawaawaawwa a million times over) Barbara Walters and of course the subject of her bitch brawl with the Fraggle Rock refugee came up. Skip to the 3 minute mark to see these freshly polished diamonds provided by Mimi and Barbara:

1. Barbara saying "I'm quick to check a bitch if she is out of line" when talking about a song Nicki Minaj did about American Idol. That line is totally going to be the title for Barbara Walter's upcoming tell-all about what it's like working with Elisabeth Hasselcrack.

2. When Barbara asks Mimi if she's the bitch Nicki is singing about, the not-so-cowardly lioness gently yanks a bitch's wig by responding with, "I didn't know she sang. I thought she rapped, or whatever." YAASSS! That is Mimi's second greatest act of sheer bitchery behind her classic "Que Es A JLo?" moment.

3. Mimi calling American Idol a "classic, classy show." Mimi is spot-on with that description, but AI's title as the classiest show on television is all thanks to Rhonetta.

This show has been falling in the ratings for some time. It's seen it's pinnacle. It's only a matter of time before we see this shame cancelled.

They have this Minaj person on there so that they can create drama and draw in new viewers. That is it. No other confusion about it.

It will work for awhile, but people will tire of it.

She has a fabulous voice, there's no doubt about that. She's earned her Diva status imo. It'll be a sad day in her life, I'm sure, when time has taken away her whistle registers. I hope she goes gracefully, like Streisand did.

There's an innocence to Mariah's persona. She strikes me as one of those women who's not mean or nasty, just so insulated and pampered that it never occurs to her to reconsider her actions or other peoples' feelings.

Whereas there's an edge to JLo's persona. She strikes me as someone who could be deliberately hostile, and is smart enough to know better. Her talent, let's be honest, isn't as great as Mariah's, so she'd probably claw her way over people.

And Nicki has some nerve to act out after Mariah put her on one of her tracks and introduced her to a new audience. She's just mad cos she's the black Lady Gaga.

That's probably taking it too far. Nicki is a mess but she's a different mess than Gaga. Most times Gaga is a bubble or a couch on stage while Nicki just wears bright colors and tight outfits. One sings weird things the other one raps in weird manish voices.

Here's my theory: the feud between them is half real. The producers probably script things and I be Nicki is in on it and OK with pulling dumb as stunts for publicity and Mariah has no idea because they knew they could just rely on her to be completely self centered and casually bitchy while trying to pretend she is "above it all".
