Would You Hit It?
Wearing a wig that looks better than anything on Nicki Minaj's head and showing Keith Urban what Nicole Kidman would look like if she didn't replace all the blood in her face with coolant, Steven Tyler made nipples moist when he auditioned for four Fraggle Rock refugees as Pepper LaBeija from the House of LaBeija. (+10 points to Steven for that Paris is Burning reference.) Steven Tyler must not have shit to do, because he returned to American Idol last night and looked like he just jacked off a bellboy in exchange for two cots in a storage closet at The Beverly Hills Hotel. Steven Tyler does White Oprah drag better than White Oprah does White Oprah drag.
Here's Steven giving us some Dude Looks Like A Lohan shit:
And I know Steven Tyler's got a dick hole cut out in those control top tights, so yes, yes, I would.
via Daily Mail

As far as I am concerned, Steven Tyler is rock royalty and therefore, can do no wrong.
But no. Would not hit that!

Now I'll have that bass line in my head all night! lol
=============================
Great bass line, yes! Also, Same Old Scene is another oldie, but goodie.
He looks good in a blonde wig & makeup. He was really beautiful when he was MUCH younger. But I have always loved men that are dark haired, with dark eyes & big sexy lips & good bone structure. Does it for me everytime. Guys like - Chris Cornell, Ian Astbury (in his youth), Matt Dillon (again, when he was younger), Keanu Reeves, etc.

YES, YES a thousand times YES! I inadvertently sat behind him in an AA meeting once. I knew I was behind a couple of rockers but i had no idea who until he got up to go to the bathroom. I will never get over that ass in those leather pants. As a semi-butch female, I love androgynous men.

I see you all are takling about great 70s music, but don't forget about Roxy Music :) Thanks.
Steven is giving me a Jerri Blank vibe there at the end of that vid! Pause the blowing a kiss part and well you'll see. And I love Jerri.
@ Whamo
I agree...I discovered him with U-2's The Joshua Tree.
Edit: yeah, I love Shadow of a Lonely Man also. Very, very good songwriting in that band.
@ Esteem....shadow of a lonely man, I have a hard time pulling links on my BB, haven't quite figured it out.
Lol VOB, but I still like this one better:
Small Faces
@ Esteem....yes I have caught some of those actually, definitely cool stuff.
Bowie's Low of course is heavy Eno which is what got me listening to his own stuff.
I understand he pretty much self taught if I'm not mistaken, He's produced help produce or played with the best of the best that's for sure.
M People cover.. What Gaga never will be. She can sing with a glass of water and a pat in the back.. still gets to the park now and then.. Wooten. !!!!

Shadow Of A Lonely Man? Or I Robot? Your link brings up a mobile desktop of a Parsons list, not just a single video.

I haven't thought about Alan Parsons in ages. This: http://youtu.be/NSlhSS3xpgo

Such a pretty song VOB, wow what a nice voice and GREAT falsetto as well! See this is how I don't understand how kids just don't seem to care if someone sings live, how can you not love to hear an actual live voice! Some of these new acts can feasibly go through an entire career and never actually sing live, it's insane!
@ Whamo
If you're liking Eno, you HAVE to find his Ambient series, there's 4 of them, I think. Great, great stuff.
Steamie lol.. Was that you dancing to itchycoo park?
Now is the time. You're not promised tomorrow. -PR
@ Esteem....I loved I Robot as well. You have an original Beatles vinyl..very cool!
I was listening to some Brian Eno today as well, I'm been getting into his solo stuff, Third Uncle, Dead Finks, Here Come the Warm Jets(I think that's what it's called) I don't know a lot of his stuff so it's fun learning as I go along. I LOVE youtube you can find damn near anything. Heck I was even listening to Vera Lynn lol:)

@ IV.....right on, they were from Boston weren't they? You got them in their prime that's for sure, well at least in the studio. You never knew what you were going to get with the "Toxic Twins" live!
Submitted by Whamo on Fri, 02/01/2013 - 8:25pm.
Oh geez, I haven't thought about the Alan Parson's Project in ages!
I went through a serious Styx and Grateful Dead period, and all those vinyls died in that same box.
However, all my Bowie, early Stones, are still good, High Tides and Green Grass is almost pristine, and I still have the Beatles first album too.
@ Bammer...will do bro, and that's cool you're so moved, I'll definitely have a listen and a read.
@ Esteem....the only thing I still have on vinyl are my Bowie and Allan Parson's Project Pyramid and three or four odd other ones. The rest were casualties of a young on the move life that saw them fade away as the years went by.
Aerosmith was the first real rock and roll band I saw. It was 1977 and I was 14 at the Boston Gaaaaaaaaaaden.
@ VOB....no I can't seem to find the originals on either one of those tunes. I looked to see if there was a greatest hits album out there that might have them on it but I see covers or Rod's later live versions as you've probably found as well. Keep your eyes open and check every so often, someone might put them up:)
Submitted by Whamo on Fri, 02/01/2013 - 7:23pm.
Mine too, Whams, I still had the vinyl until about 5 years ago, it got warped in a hot trunk during a move.
Batty and Whams, just sample a few of his songs when you get a chance, you'll definitely like him. But I gotta say there's only one or two times in my life I've come across someone who made me wish I was a better person, this guy is on that list. He is true to himself.
I think of you, streetboy, establishment blues (cold fact) sugarman, great stuff.
I'm out, gotta do the month's grocery shopping. Y'all have a good evening.

@ Bammer...ya I had pulled it up on your last post and gave it a listen, I like what I'm hearing but I'm only on my BB right now, I'll pull it back up tomorrow when I get chance to listen to it on a good sound system. When someone mentions an artist I haven't heard of I usually line up three or four songs to get a better feel for their sound. As well I usually wiki and read up on the artist. Wiki is now my go to for info on everything music. I can learn when, who, where it was recorded who played on it, produced it ect. In the last few years it's been invaluable to me. I'll go hours sometimes just starting off on a vand or a song and hitting links as I go along.
Whamo can you find Faces Glad Rags or Mandolin Wind?

Wham, pull the link on my siggie for a song by Rodriguez. I been trying to get anybody here to listen to his stuff. Dude is like a latin Dylan, a street poet for the working/poor class.
He made two albums in the 70's, never hit it big in the States but was huge in South Africa for the whites opposing apartheid.
You have to rent Searching for Sugarman, a documentary about him, it is truly remarkable, inspirational. I even think a few artists lifted some ideas off his music ifyaknowhatimean.
ETA: You got that right, DD. Best there ever was IMO, some of his R&B covers were better than the originals.

Robert Palmer was a soul singer. However, most only know him from his POP music days. Bang a gong, get it on.

Robert Palmer
__________________________________________
My favourite Palmer tune was Johnny and Mary.
Placebo did a great cover of it as they did a great cover of Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill
Can't say I don't know your Rodriguez guy though.
@ Esteem....Toys In the Attic is my favourite Aerosmith album:)
I Knew it was ST as soon as he walked on. I know he's a character and doesn't give a fuck what anyone thinks, but I'll just think of him this way:
Toys in the Attic Live 1977
Edit: and yes I'd still hit it, with a quad condom
I srsly did think it was Dina Lohan.
Yeah Wham, I love music but few people make good music to my ears, unless they're trained musicians. I keep drifting back to my youth, guess that's why I like this Rodriguez guy in SFTS.
I was reading up on the wiki, remembering how Robert Palmer had this island/new orleans groove about him early on. Didn't know he hooked up with Little Feat back in the day, another all time fave. Them boys could boogie better than anyone in the day.

The Faces were awesome Bammer, good call on this tune by the way! I've always loved that "dirty" sound they worked in on the guitar for this tune.
Ya, I think we all tend to listen to less new music as we get older.

@ Whamo -- speaking of great 70s rock guess who's going to see The Who tonight?! :-D
===============================================
AWESOME!!! I saw them in November and they do Quadrophenia from the start to finish and only about 6 - 7 hits at the end. It was one of the best concerts I've seen in a long long time. I was incredibly impressed at how well Roger sang. It took him two or three tunes to hit his vocal stride but considering I heard him at that superbowl halftime show and he sounded...not so good I was SO happy to hear him in such good form.
Highlights of the show oddly enough were Bell Boy with Keith Moon singing it (on tape obviously ) as they played along with him, a John Entwistle bass solo that will blow your mind and Pete doing an acoustic portion quietly playing and wonderfully singing. When Pete and Roger hugged each other to wave bye at the end it literally brought a tear to my eye.
