Ecce... Have looked through the thread twice and can't seem to find the post where you describe what's going on with your friend. I hope you can stand by her.

Thank you both. Sorry I went to bed, I was pretty depressed (which is unusual for me but this shit is getting me down the last week). For the last 4 or 5 years she's been in an on again-off again relationship with a guy who's threatened to kill her, throw her off a parking structure, that he'd bury her so deep they'd never find her body...on and on and on.
And she keeps going back to him. I can't do this anymore.
After the last break up, she started going out with one of my best straight guy friends (dude is fucking GORGEOUS, and sweet, and from what she told me, hung like a horse and can go all night) and then she just went all cold to him and started talking to the abusive one (I guess appearance shouldn't matter, but he's hideous, about 5 feet tall, hung like a gnat and his breath is so bad people actually step away from him.) Oh, and there's that threatening to kill her thing.
Long story short (I know, too late!) she's back with the asshole. And my good buddy straight guy is kind of destroyed about it all.
It's all horrible and dark and I can't deal with it anymore (we've been through this so many times now)
Sorry, I wish I'd stuck around longer last night to hear some straight girl opinions (because most of the women here seem pretty smart and rational and I feel out of my depth dealing with this situation) but I was feeling this dread that happens whenever she's with that asshole rat bastard.
Still figuring out what to do. Thank you very much, hope I didn't burden anyone unnecessarily.

Agreed. Always love to talk music - just actually did a piece picking my top five songs of 2012 for my company's newsletter.

The new bed looks awesome - can't wait to get a night's sleep in on it.

We're thinking about getting the kitchen redone. It really depends on what we can get on our budget (we're looking to take it to the studs and knock out the separation between the kitchen and the dining room for an "open concept" feel.

I think MK needs to do an all music weekend sometime. I'd love to spend it revisiting some of these bands!

Did I just read that your bed arrived? So how is it? And are you getting your kitchen redone? With a hot designer I'm sure you'll be convinced to do the rest of the place. ;p

My previous boss did that, started with one room and ended up doing the entire house. Even insulated his garage.

You have such a good eye! I am glad people noticed. I get the impression people wrote in because action was quick. I still wouldn't trust them if they let that kind of thing happen. They should know better. If MK ever stops sending people their way, it would be well deserved.

Boredas Two different meteors.. Same day. There are supposed to be some good meteor showers over the next.couple of nights, I'm surprised that no one thought it was a nuclear attack.. Especially with the impact of the sonic boom.

Was this the same meteor scientist told us not to worry about because it was several thousand miles away from earth, yet closer to the earth's atmosphere than the moon???? Or is this a different meteor?
