Oscar Pistorius Tells His Side Of The Story And It Doesn't Make Any Sense
Not that shooting your girlfriend for any reason makes sense, but you know. Oscar Pistorius was in court today to be officially charged with premeditated murder and during the hearing his lawyer read a statement written by him. It turns out the burglar story that the media was throwing around is the story that Oscar is going with.
Oscar says that the night before the murder, he and his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp spent the night at his house. She did yoga, he watched TV and afterward they went to sleep together. Oscar said in his statement that he knows everybody gets robbed in his neighborhood and he has gotten several death threats before, so he keeps a 9mm pistol under his bed. In the early morning on February 14th, Oscar woke up to close the balcony door when he heard a noise in the bathroom. Now a normal person who thinks normally would just assume that their piece was taking a middle of the night piss. But Oscar, who wasn't wearing his legs at the same, got scared, grabbed his gun from under the bed and went to the bathroom.
Oscar claims he didn't turn the lights on, but he did shout at the person in the bathroom. When he didn't hear anything back, he shot through the bathroom door several times. Oscar went back to the bed and realized that Reeva was in it. So he put on his legs, beat the locked bathroom door open with a cricket bat, called the paramedics and then carried her down the stairs. Oscar says that she died in his arms.
Oscar says he now knows that Reeva went to use the bathroom when he went to close the balcony door. He claims he's innocent and that he never meant to kill Reeva, because he was in love with her and shit.
The prosecutors were not moved and they told the court that Oscar meant to kill Reeva. Bail was denied and Oscar will stay in a cell.
Most of that shit makes no sense and if Oscar claimed that aliens with guns from District 9 killed her, I'd believe that story before I'd believe the story he told in court. Reeva really didn't shout back when he shouted at her through the bathroom door? And when he went to get the gun from under his bed, he didn't notice that she wasn't in it anymore? Is Jodi Arias on his defense team, because that story is a full-on fairytale.
All the times that I got up in the middle of the night to take a 2am piss, the piece in my bed would either stay sleeping or tell me to piss quieter. I guess I should feel lucky that he never shot my ass.

NO-there was a girl shot and killed in Boulder. There was another girl who was only shot in the hip, that was a separate incident. You might want to expand BEYOND your google search before you claim to know everything.
YES-there are A LOT of homeless people in Boulder-downtown. A LOT. Walk down by the creek at night or early morning and let me know how you're doing. WTH? Did someone actually say the reason the Benet case wasn't handled well because the Boulder police had never handled a murder investigation before???? Are you really under the impression that no one had been killed in Boulder before the Benet case?
As far as Boulder being safer than other cities-Yes. Boulder is hardly a city like Denver or San Francisco though, so can't really say it's a good comparison. But that doesn't really speak to the point that after robberies and other crimes on the hill, residents feel on edge there. Even after the police shot the elk in downtown boulder last month people feel on edge. Whether it's justified or not because a city is statistically safe any thing like a shooting, unsolved murder or robberies can leave people feeling on edge. That was my point.

My friends a fabulous energy reader & she's often right. She said he's all about saving his own skin right now, she is such an after thought.
Seems to her he wants to win, at all costs. he's got a huge chip on his shoulder. She also said she feels she was interested in another, and he had evidence and with the whole "if I can't have her no one can" he finished her. She has no doubt he loved her but in a possession way. Now she's dead, he's totally about saving himself.

They need to contact a really excellent psychic detective and speak to Reeva. Find out the nitty gritty and help them piece it together.

SA is a nightmare. You've got to live in a community with a wall behind it. People are constantly robbed and killed. After living like that for a while, you are on edge. And it doesn't take much to put a town on edge like that. In Boulder last year a drunk girl wandered into the wrong house and the people called out to here several times and she didn't answer. She was shot and killed. It was in the same area of town Jon Benet was killed and the place has a lot of robberies, scary homeless people. It puts people on edge. They get guns...and well if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time it can go wrong.

She's currently serving a couple of years probation. #2 - Boulder is probably the most affluent city in the state of Colorado. kiwikim, are you fucking kidding me? Boulder is one of the safest cities ever. JonBenets murder investigation was bungled b/c NO ONE on the Boulder force had ever worked a homicide before. Murders are extremely rare there. There are aggressive panhandlers, but no more crime than you can expect in a college town, and certainly little violent crime. Mostly robberies. Shit, Denver is one of the few cities where people can safely walk downtown by and large at all hours of the night.

16.7 During the early morning hours of 14 February 2013, I woke up, went onto the balcony to bring the fan in and closed the sliding doors, the blinds and the curtains. I heard a noise in the bathroom and realised that someone was in the bathroom.
16.10 I grabbed my 9mm pistol from underneath my bed. On my way to the bathroom I screamed words to the effect for him/them to get out of my house and for Reeva to phone the police. It was pitch dark in the bedroom and I thought Reeva was in bed
16.13 I fired shots at the toilet door and shouted to Reeva to phone the police. She did not respond and I moved backwards out of the bathroom, keeping my eyes on the bathroom entrance. Everything was pitch dark in the bedroom and I was still too scared to switch on a light. Reeva was not responding.
All righty, he mentions twice that it's "pitch dark," so dark he can't see anything, but a few minutes earlier, he had no problem walking over to the balcony, bringing in the fan, closing the door, blinds and curtains. He could clearly see all that crap. Make up your mind, was it dark or not?!

I am the world's worst skeptic, but I believe him. I've known lots of people from SA that have moved across the world to escape SA. I had a neighbor from SA that had stab marks from head to toe. As she was shutting down her business one night, a bunch of guys wandered in and stabbed her. They stabbed her over a hundred times. She had wounds on every inch of her body that I could see. It's amazing she lived.

I really want to give this guy the benefit of the doubt. My brother-in-law is from South Africa and it is a culture of violence. They all carry guns, and his family's cars have bullet proof windows. Twice -- intruders broke in at Christmas and wiped out the entire Christmas stash. I don't think people here realize what it is like there -- intruders, home invaders, shooting -- are rampant . . . and people who 'have' (the have and have-nots) have to be prepared to defend themselves at any time.

I believe him. I knew a girl who was an amputee and she walked on her broken limbs/stumps very quickly....it was funny to me because I was a kid. In order to walk downstairs you'd need your legs though. They were sleeping together (they weren't fighting or anything, obviously) and he woke up, heard a noise in the bathroom, and shot through the door. Did she die on the toilette?...if so, there's more proof he wasn't wearing his legs because he'd have to be short to aim that low. His story could very well be true. If you've never been to or lived in South Africa, you can't imagine what the crime is like there. People get attacked for no real reason, in the most heinous ways. People get attacked in parked cars, even.
If he was already paranoid, which he mentioned before, he would naturally be on high-alert hearing sounds in the middle of the night. On top of that, the man is disabled, so he feels ESPECIALLY vulnerable.
If his girlfriend didn't stay there every night (I wasn't even aware he had a girlfriend) it's easy to forget it could be HER when you're constantly afraid of being attacked in your home. If he did realize she was there, he may have just assumed she was still in bed.
I'm not going to support someone just for being a "hero" but so far I've seen no reason not to believe him.
Now if that "bloody bat" story is true that's a WHOLE different ball game.
You know what he should have said was that he'd been burlarized and tormented by some ginger freckeled hobo over the past several months, and he'd had enough of it and was going to defend his property and himself with a cricket bat and a gun, if he needed to.

I think the early forensics already have (ie: crushed skull, security being called by neighbors and shell casing found in bedroom)
I gave him the benefit if the doubt at first (being woken up in the middle of the night to strange noises with no legs and blindly firing into the dark) but as more details emerge and the more he talks, he's just looking more and more guilty as sin.....

CNN has the complete affidavit which is way more detailed than the shortened version MK has posted here.
It answers some questions--Apparently he was already inside the main bathroom area.
"I noticed that the bathroom window was open. I realised that the intruder/s was/were in the toilet because the toilet door was closed and I did not see anyone in the bathroom. I heard movement inside the toilet. The toilet is inside the bathroom and has a separate door.
Also he says he can "walk" without his prosthetics, which may explain how he did so much before he put on his legs.
It's an interesting read.
