Kelly Osbourne Is In The Hospital After Having A Seizure (UPDATE)
Kelly Osbourne is laid up in the hospital today after she had a seizure on the set of E!'s Fashion Police. TMZ says that everything was going fine during taping until Kelly told Melissa Rivers, who was filling in for Giuliana Rancic, that was she wasn't feeling too good. Kelly then slipped off her chair and had a seizure on the floor. Melissa turned Kelly's head and a member of the audience, who's a medical professional type, jumped in to help.
Kelly's seizure eventually stopped and she seemed okay, but her people insisted that she go to the hospital. An ambulance showed up, they put her on a stretcher, threw a white sheet over her to block her face from the paps and shuffled her off to the hospital.
Joan Rivers later told TMZ that she just saw Kelly in the hospital and she's doing fine. It's not known why Kelly had a seizure. A source tells UsWeekly that she's speaking to doctors and they're running test. To which I say to the source, fucking duh! What else are they supposed to do in a hospital? Give you a mani-pedi and let you pet baby bunnies? (Truth talk: They really should give you a mani-pei and let you pet baby bunnies in the hospital.)
And no, I'm not going to dip into Twitter to see what the Little Monsters are saying about this. Not today.
UPDATE: Kelly's rep tells her bosses at E! that she didn't have a seizure, she fainted. So is Kelly's rep trying to cover something up or does a ho on the Fashion Police set not know the difference between a seizure and a fainting spell? Story developing (not really).

I have syncope, which is extremely low blood pressure that causes you to faint. When you faint, your body seizes. So it looks like you are having a seizure but you're not. She probably has syncope. It's fairly common, and not that serious.
We call them seizures, Hollywood calls it "exhaustion. She does a good job on Drag Race as a judge.
I agree with those who think it's a chemical side effect (either by withdrawal or using), such as diet pills and/or another kind.
I will though correct my statement with ''at that age.'' it can happen to anyone at any age, but there is a cause for it, and buying the all too innocent fainting in her case, seems improbable to me.
@ gianisole - it's the most common type of fainting reason, and I would think someone would have assumed you had fainted rather than you've had a seizure. you cannot move your arms and legs.
we'll never know and people in Hollywood lie a lot. I don't think she's as healthy and/or clean as some would say.

I cant stand her, but Melissa Rivers & Joan & that crew probably wouldnt know a seizure from fainting even if it foamed & peed all over them. Kelly is engaged to some vegan chef I think, so maybe she isnt eating enough food to sustain her natural chubbiness & did faint...Or heaven forbid she is pregnant. I think she may be pregnant. Ick.

Diet pills are a hell of a drug.
It once happened to me 3 years ago, needles scare the hell out of me and my blood pressure dropped and I fainted in the dermatologist office. While I was unconcius apparently had kind of a seizure but it was not exactly a seizure, as they explained me later,because you I didn't pee and another stuff that happens when you actually have a real seizure. As the doctors told me that time, it's actually pretty common to have it. It's called a vasovagal syncope and can or cannot be related to other diseases. It never happened to me again. So I believe her when she says that she didn't have a seizure.
I won't believe the merely fainting story from her rep. He's hiding something that she does not want the public to know.
Q: did she fall flat on her face or on her side and never moved, or had she been ''moving'' once hitting ground? Perhaps, the people in attendance could answer best. Who concludes that you've just had a seizure, when more commonly you'd assume that she had fainted? ''she fainted! has she dropped dead?'' would be a normal first reaction.

My brother has epilepsy and has had several seizures and that shit is terrifying, terrifying, terrifying. To experience, to witness, to live with.
Ozzy has a stroke, Jack has MS and now this. Sharon will clear it all up on her View knockoff show to be sure. I'm goin with illegally obtained Fen/Phen or whatever that stuff was called. I had a seizure once - I don't remember anything except waking up on the floor in the Lowe's Garden Dept. with a bunch of people around me.
Like Kelly, I apparently told someone "I don't feel good" and then collapsed to the floor and had a seizure. Thankfully, there was a nurse right there and she knew what was happening.
I have hypoglycemia (didn't know I had it then) and I now pay close attention to the symptoms, so it doesn't happen again.

Sometimes it can be a reflexive vaso-vagal response to certain stimuli (i.e., blood drawing, listening to someone discuss medical symptoms (as a former premed I used to feel faint shadowing an oncologist in clinic)) Other than that, low blood pressure is an issue for me when standing still for long periods of time. It may be a cardiovascular issue, but not eating properly or being dehydrated may have something to do with it, too.
I couldn't imagine living in Florida... heat and humidity make me so sick too. I recently relocated to Seattle from Virginia and I love the weather here.

There are so many complications, physical/neuropathological and psychological, that we don't understand fully yet when it comes to addictions. It's never as easy as most people assume.

I've only fainted once. It was after a scalding hot shower. I developed tunnel vision and my ears echoed every sound. I was lucky I made it to my bed.
