Jay Pays

 

Jay Leno received criticism after most of his non-striking staff was laid off and given shitty ass holiday bonuses. Jay and NBC are apparently on damage control. Jay has agreed to pay 80 laid off workers for at least the next week out of his own pocket. It could be extended if the strike goes beyond that. 

 

Employees told The Hollywood Reporter that they were pissed, because Jay said they would be okay. He talked about possibly bringing in guest hosts without a monologue, so that they could keep their jobs. None of this happened.

 

One staffer said, "A lot of people don't want to work for Jay anymore. His true colors have shown. We were told he won't cross the picket line until David Letterman or Conan O'Brien do so that he can look like the good guy to the WGA."

 

You know Letterman and Conan are loving this. Take Jay down! They are probably having a few laughs over martinis.
