Don't Mess With Dolly
Dolly Parton, the woman who wouldn't hurt a twat crab, is pissed off at Howard Stern for a segment he did on Dolly's fake audio book. Howard has done this sort of thing before. The show manipulated her words, so it sounded like some raunchy shit was coming from her mouth. For instance, he made Dolly say, "Kenny Rogers smells like boy cum." I giggled at that. I'm immature, I know. Duh.
Dolly issued this statement, "I have never been so shocked, hurt and humiliated in all my life. I cannot believe what Howard Stern has done to me. In a blue million years, I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth. They have done editing or some sort of trickery to make this horrible, horrible thing. Please accept my apology for them and certainly know I had nothing to do with this. If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this. Just wanted you to know that I am completely devastated by this."
I adore Dolly the same way I adore my pair of pulsating nipple clamps, but any snatch with at least two brain cells can tell it's not her saying that shit. My 7-year-old cousin could do a better job with a busted Casio recorder.
That being said, Howard should apologize and then gracefully cancel his show. Well, if you hurt Dolly's feelings, you have to pay the price. It's in the Bible. Look it up.

I used to occasionally listen to his Sirius show in the mornings while working last fall/winter.. but even though I enjoy some of the humor and commentary, he goes over the top too much for me.
I'm fine with sophomoric humor (I enjoy reading hotchickswithdouchebags.com ... full grown adult but I love the various ways they use the word "douche" hehehe).
But some of the stuff they say on Howard gets so extreme, I feel "dirty" for even having listened to it.
I wish they could dial it back just a few notches... it would be nice and raunchy and fun without making me physically ill or embarrassed to be listening.
I'm not a prude either... seriously. I can appreciate good porn, I don't mind the occasional insult comic... no problems.
Howard's show though sometimes, wow. Pedophelia, the n-word, menstrual blood... nothing is safe from this guy's show and they try every day to top the previous one.

Have to side with Dolly on this one. There's nothing funnier than Howard taking on a complete asshole. However, it's not funny if the person is a nice person by all accounts. I mean, why is he picking on Dolly Parton? There are such better targets.
Howard lost a lot of appeal when he started focusing on strippers 24/7. I still laugh out loud when I remember his show on Channel 9. My ex and I used to smoke a few bowls and howl with laughter. That was the best!

Dolly is a class act all the way, she treats EVERYONE with respect, and is a really good sport, she generally has a amazing sense of humor. I think that the problem here is that jokes were made in her name at other peoples expense, not to mention the fact that some pretty crass language and inappropriate (pedophilia) subject matter was brought up.

I understand Howard Stern's appeal to some people, but I personally don't care for him.
Probably just from the "old fashioned upbringing" that I had, being taught that "there is no excuse for rudeness" and I have to say that Howard Stern's humor simply strikes me as rude much of the time. If and when I have the "opportunity" to be exposed to his style of humor, I change the station! I just don't find him funny!
And, I happen to admire Dolly Parton.

Deb you are correct about that. She is not looking for attention, but he has done this forever. I have not listened to him in probably more than 5 years and this is what he does with anyone who has a book out etc. I just think as someone else said that dignifying the comment and apologizing for him is not wise, had she not done it I would never had heard it -- so she gave him more publicity. And suing for it, is even more publicity for him, and based on my experience she has no chance to win as a public figure.____________________________________________

Any fucking moron can tell her voice was badly edited, Howard didn't do the editing, someone who works for him did it stop blaming him and it's been done with other celebs i.e. William Shatner and Oprah they weren't offended or haven't complained.
