In case you missed it, here's Mike "forever fat on the inside" Huckabee trying to be a comedian while speaking to the NRA yesterday. While Huckabee was giving his speech, there was a noise offstage. He quickly joked that Barack Obama fell off his chair. Everyone kind of laughed, so the dumb fuck decided he should continue the joke. He added, "Somebody aimed a gun at him and he dove for the floor." Nobody laughed.
That stupid fuck should really quit his job as America's Number 1 dickwad and take his comedy act on the road. The KKK Comedy tour!
Huckabee later apologized by saying, "During my speech at the NRA, a loud noise backstage that sounded like a chair falling distracted the crowd and interrupted my speech. I made an offhand remark that was in no way intended to offend or disparage Sen. Obama. I apologize that my comments were offensive. That was never my intention."
Basically, he's saying he's a dumb fuck and can't help it.
Hickabillie's comments were in bad taste because there are so many nut cases ready to shoot politicians for their political beliefs. These commments are being played all over the media now. Poor Obama, his skin color makes him a big target for fear mongers. I read somewhere that him and his family were given special security very early in the race because of the number of racial motivated threats he was receiving.
On a happier note, fuck Huckabee.

Ahh, not a conspiracy really, my friend works the polls as a democrat and is an Obama person and he has said that in states whereas republicans can also vote in the democratic primary, he said he found a lot of republicans in exit polls that voted for Obama and when asked why theys said that they wanted to screw Hillary and Clinton and thought Obama as a candidate was best for thier republican candidate. I am not surprised.

Oh, sorry, I was off by a year...
If he had straightened up and flew straight afterwards, no, Chappaquiddick wouldn't be his only legacy. Also, a good explaination for that would have helped him, but he couldn't do that without jail time, could he?
As far as his Senate record is concerned, HE WAS THERE. He did not stand up as a huge instigator of any kind of reforms, he was not a leader. He was "a part of" and "a party to," but he didn't push anything. He got sent back to the Senate time and time again because his last name is Kennedy, and yeah, when you spend 40 years in the Senate, you're going to have your name on paper, and since seniority counts for something there, the longer he stayed, the more he stayed in the background, the more he became the "patriarch".
If he had shown remorse for ANY of the things he did or was aware of, instead of continuing to try to sweep things under the rug, he probably could have avoided having Chappaquiddick as his legacy. But, in all fairness to Mary Jo Kopechne, do you REALLY want to overlook the fact that he wrecked a car drunken driving, and left a girl in the car TO DIE? I don't.
Yes, his relatives are his relatives, and we all have some we don't like, but not all of us would be willing to jump in to save our relatives from rape or murder charges. Ted did. So, yes, I can certainly call him an evil bastard for the things he did, the things he knew and did nothing or the wrong thing about, and I can say that being involved in that much shadiness certainly provides a hell of a lot of cover for whatever good he was a part of.
(Yes, Strom Thurmond was a nasty man, and a hypocrite, who actually proffered and led legislation keeping segregation intact, while having an illegitimate black daughter never acknowledged publicly until after his death. It was the hypocrasy and covering up I was alluding to being similar to Ted.)

Ted K has been air lifted out of the family compound due to a seizure they are now reporting. He and his family have done more for civil rights than the last 5 presidents combined.
I do feel sorry that this happened, and for thsoe who say he has not done much for civil rights he is constantly called one of the 10 top senators of all time because in his lifetime he has been in strong support and has helped many of the legislations that now impact all of us pass, including gun control, ADEA, FMLA, Civil Rights Act of 1991 etc. I can go on. Yes, as a person he has many faults and personally he can kiss my ass -- the drowning event, his alcoholism, but that does not take from his actions in the senate.
As for Huckabee and someone else's comment here, gun control is the majority of people and they put asswipe Bush in power? get a grip

I can't remember the name of the film, it was lame, but it had Eddie Murphy in it, he ran for office, because he had the same last name as a candidate who had just died, and he figured he could win because of name recognition. That was taking the piss out of dear old Uncle Teddy for being re-elected again and again simply because his last name is Kennedy, and the Camelot mystique still held. I may not have been there when Jack and Bobby got murdered, but that doesn't mean I can't recall the 80s. There was plenty of talk about why Ted still got to go to Washington. Yes, Ted has his name on plenty of pieces of legislation, along with a lot of other names. He'd have to be completely numb not to. He has not been anywhere close to achieving anything like what his brothers did. There were no lines of flower-waving people waiting for Teddy's train to pass. People revered Strom Thurmond when he was the most senior member in the Senate, too. That certainly doesn't make Strom Thurmond a great man.

I was around for the assinations, JFK was the first president I ever got to see. And he was killed the next day. In HS, Bobby was my hero and I was crushed when he was killed, even moreso than his brother. Teddy has been more productive as a senator than anyone else in that position I can think of in the betterment of our nation.

I just have it in a pot outside, I have a "black thumb" too, the only things I can grow are cacti and catnip, hahaha Nip grows really well, you can practically just drop the seeds in the pot and let it go. Moose luuuurves him some fresh, when it first buds, you pinch the tops out, so it bushes out and gets full? He FREAKS over the little baby leaves, he eats it. It is really strong-smelling, too, I walk in with it in my hand, and he starts following me, making little noises, that increase in volume and urgency, the further I walk away with it.
