Back To Work For The Swayze
Patrick Swayze isn't letting a thing called pancreatic cancer stop him from doing what he's good at. He's just signed on to star in the A&E series "The Beast."
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the ""Beast," centers on an unorthodox but effective FBI veteran (Swayze) who trains a new partner (Travis Fimmel) in his hard-edged and psychologically clever style of agenting while being pursued by a secret Internal Affairs team."
Production on the 13 episodes begin this summer in Chicago. The show will air in 2009.
The Swayze will continue treatment at Stanford University Medical Center while shooting the show. He said, "I have searched for quite a long time to find a character that is this multi-layered, unpredictable and downright entertaining, as well as a project this current and cutting-edge."
He's back! As much as I can't wait to see The Swayze on TV, I really think he should put out a full-length album. "She's Like The Wind" and "Raising Heaven (In Hell Tonight)" are both on heavy rotation in my iTunes.

Nectar, I actually didn't have any symptoms. I'm 38 and had been wearing contacts for 25 years. My eyes were starting to reject contacts, so I went in for a screening to get LASIK surgery done. During the screening, they found an unidentifiable spot on my right cornea. I was sent to a corneal specialist at Wash Univ in St. Louis and he diagnosed it. I have been taking Intron A drops since March and that is what has caused the blood vessel to recede and the cancer to start clearing up. It was caught very early, so it was a good thing I decided to get the LASIK screening when I did. I assume that had it been allowed to grow, it would have started to cross over the pupil area, and bad vision would have been my first symptom.

Would the owners of this site please erase a celeb from the list on right, maybe Michelle Rodriquez and post up Patrick Swayze instead. We care about him more than most others on here with the exception of Brangelina.

I don't know if anyone remembers, but on the day they announced that Patrick had pancreatic cancer, it was the same day that I found out (and announced) that I had cancer in my right eye, on the cornea. I am please to announce that after following my doctor's treatment, the cancer is MUCH smaller now and the blood vessel feeding it has regressed to the point that it is only 1.3 mm long! I am 'slamming this cancer into the ground' as someone else said!

Boring story: My BFF at the time and I used to go to this restaurant he part-owned (Mulholland Drive Cafe) and she always used to ask if he was around, and she told me one night I didn't go that he was there and bought her an apricot sour at the bar; she was prone to exaggeration so I didn't believe her. But the place had pretty good food, and the bar drew this odd mix of people that made it a really fun place to have a few drinks.

And wow. I really hope this means he is doing ok...as he will be the main character. I think it's actually smart on his end too...act like you will get better- the whole positive mindset that is critical in beating a disease- is half the battle. By committing to this series he is saying he's going to be around for a while. Good for him.

I have the VHS copy of "The Outsiders". We used to watch the scene over and over when they were all in the bathroom and Rob Lowe was coming out of the shower. To this day I swear to goodness that you can get a glimpse of his family jewels. I was sooo into C. Thomas Howell back then. I recently saw him on that VH-1 magic reality show, and I felt bad for him. Gotta love the 80's!
