er... what about jamie lynn spears and immediate family makes you think they are "conservative christians"? they don't seem that way to me... to me it seems like every member of the family is doing their own thing. do you mean politically or socially conservative?

I went to school with some very strict socially conservative christians. I don't think they were politically conservative then though they could be now.

these girls always dressed very modestly. they participated in a lot of school events but they chose to do things that didn't conflict with their beliefs. so if they sang a song it might not be religious but it wouldn't be full of innuendo.

they were actually very nice girls. but they were nothing at all like the spears.

Another conservative Christian bimbo is pregnant. Maybe Republicans will realize that putting your teenage daughter on birth control is not the end of the world.

Did anyone else see a new reality show that's coming out, about parents of babies letting them stay with teenagers for three days in specially rigged houses? It looked miserable for everyone involved. The parents were defending them giving up their babies for the show with.."we had live 24/7 cameras we could watch them on and there were nurses and nannies in the house at all times."
From the previews, the teens were crying worse than a lot of the babies. And some of these babies looked like they were only a couple months old!!

Maybe I am wrong but perhaps no one cares because she is just another static on unwed motherhood. There is no glamorizing the fact that if you are young, alone, and get preggers your life is going to change. With or without money.

Even her mom didn't really seem to give a shit except for when the book deal about raising these "superstars" went south. That cost Lynn some decent pocket change, bet on that.

This girl (JLS) got tons of publicity when she announced her pregnancy, hence the OK! deal early on made with Lynn. OK! probably thought they were getting a good deal at the time. Now I think, with fingers crossed, it will cost them out the butt.

I'm just saying, this chick has money, something most young mothers her age don't. Her situation, though, still morally shady to some people out there, could be a whole lot worse. She'll have no excuse for being such a crummy mother because half of her situation is a non-issue. All she has to do is be the best mom she can be. And believe me, being financially stable, helps that out a lot.

One can have all the money in the world, but it takes maturity to raise a kid correctly. Sorry, but at 17 one doesn't have the maturity that only comes with age. (Yeah, yeah I know there are a lot of immature older people that never got it). She can be mature for her age, but again, there's maturity that comes with living through things and that she doesn't have. That's why teenage moms usually always have their moms around or lots of adult help.

When schools offer it to their students, they make it convenient, make it okay. When I was in high school (and no, I'm not that old), there was no on-site daycare for the students. In fact, there were no pregnant students on campus because the ones that did get prego, went elsewhere. Students understood that your life would change if you got prego, and a lot of students (like myself) looked at it as a negative. Today there's no stigma attached. In fact, it's looked at as a positive and something that won't change your life and will give you a lot of attention and perks.

Sorry to be anal about this, but having 4 kids, I know pregnancy's and due dates.

I looked up on my "pregnancy calender" on parents magazine website. If the 1ST DAY of your last period was September 15th, your due date would be June 21st. So if her period last 5 days, that takes her out to Sept 20th and beyond BEFORE she got pregnant. It takes about 5-6 weeks before you know that you're pregnant so she really wouldn't have known until sometime in October.

I'm saying if she had her baby mid June SHE GOT pregnant at the end of September, so anyone asking in Sept if she's pregnant probably got a no, because she had her period (I'm assuming like any other prego that had a kid in June) She probably found out sometime in Oct, as pregnancy tests don't show positive until so many days after a missed period.

Me too. Well, I was 15 and got a diaphragm. My mother had it drilled into our heads that we were to have babies ONLY after we had been educated, fully exhausted with partying and traveling and after being married. She's always right.
