Farewell, George Carlin
I'm sure you already know about this sad news, but George Carlin, comedian and curse word lover, passed away from heart failure at Saint Joan's Hospital in Santa Monica, CA yesterday. He was 71.
George has had a history of heart problems. He checked into the hospital yesterday after complaining about chest pains.
He is survived by his second wife Sally Wade and his daughter Kelly Carlin.

George Carlin was more than a brilliant comedian, he was an important political satirist with serious integrity. His excoriating wit addressed important issues he really believed needed to be talked about. It was the courage of his convictions coupled with a uniquely sophisticated talent for humor that distinguishes him from the vapid, mealy-mouthed cynics on the comedy stage today, who yes elicit some laughter, but do not provoke us to think the way George Carlin did. He will be missed.
