I beg to differ with your assessment that it is "worse" for a male than it is for a female. Childhood sexual abuse is not an easy topic of discussion for either sex, Lifetime movies or not. While it may be more logical that girls are more likely to be abused, that doesn't mean it's any easier for them to discuss it. Males are more likely to be abused by strangers, while females are more likely to be abused by a family member, or someone their family regularly interacts with. Neither situation makes it easier to talk about. Stigma is still attached, regardless of gender.

ITA. My man-whore (kidding, my husband duh) was molested by his eldest brother. It took FOREVER for him to admit it because he was so ashamed (as if it was HIS fault his brother was a sick fuck). The 'family' lovedddddddd the older brother who went to college and later got a degree in law and got rich and my husband still has horrible memories he can't erase from his childhood. lol lifetime doesnt help with shit. But what I am saying, is there is an openness to discussion about female rape. Very rarely do fathers sit down with their sons and ask "has a man ever tried to touch you?", even in health classes etc. they may alude to male rape but rarely is it discussed as throughly as female, but this is because there so little known about male rape since men tend to keep it to themselves. On the topic of lifetime, I know its a womens channel, but being that rape knows no bounds to gender, they really should make some about the experience for a male. I dont think I have ever even heard of one on public tele. Also, a womans sexual orientation isnt questioned afterwards, where as a male whom has been raped, they suffer severe mental consequences as far as their sexual orientation,they question whether they are straight, and not to mention society asking "is he gay?" its a sad situation no matter who's involved, but if they were going to start talking about this, they should just reveal who it is. But probably there are legal issues, they can be sued if they were to say its MJ, and without evidenciery support, and it being so many years later they have no meritable case.

But, they would have better served the world to go to the authorities and put the assholes in jail or to make a documentary-type show to help kids/adults abused as kids who are hiding their shame to get help and let them know it's not their fault...than by going on national TV and pulling the "Two Coreys" antics which make more of a mockery out of a horrific crime rather than bringing help to those who are suffering. This type of tragedy doesn't need to be presented in a "my life was worse than your life" situation.
