I love how the religious right think that anyone who is gay is automatically going to hell. It's like they use that to feel better about themselves and the shitty things they've done in their life. If having gay sex is a big enough sin to send someone to hell, then maybe we're all doomed? People are so quick to judge the way other's live their lives before they take a good, close look at their own.

This is a totally different story but somehow it relates in my mind: yesterday I was watching CNN and they were talking about how Bill O'Reilly couldn't wait a day after George Carlin's death to air an interview he did with George about his use of curse words. O'Reilly was like "Can't you get your point across without using.. the F word?" and George was like "Nope. It's the spice in my stew, Bill." Then the network, right after, showed the clip of Bill O'Reilly dropping a million F-bombs from earlier in his career. HAHA it was funny.

Andersen Cooper is not "out," as he has never publicly stated his orientation one way or another. His name is included on lists occasionally because everybody basically knows, and some don't bother to step around the issue. It's like Clay Aiken - a refusal to answer one way or another is pretty much the same thing as saying "I'm gay but don't want to tell you." Anyway, my point is, Andersen doesn't acknowledge it, hasn't come out, and the closest he's come to is non-denials like here.

When compared to the other newscasters out there, of course they are gonna brand A-Coop hot.

Katie Couric looks like a deserted kennel puppy, and the other are older than Methuselah.

And I don't care if you are gay or straight or fucking animals on the side, if you do or do not want your private matters public, then continue to do as you do (or don't).

If he is gay, I think the biggest reason he chooses to keep it private is because of his career. He will most likely be a network world news anchor on ABC, NBC or CBS someday. He probably knows that percentage of intolerant Americans would freak out at the idea of an openly gay man anchoring the nightly news. Plus, the gay thing could overshadow his entire career. In a way that he would be known as a "gay journalist" instead of just a journalist. That is a tough thing to deal with.
