Maybe it's just luck of the draw, but I think that sometimes good people see something in a person that is a redeeming enough quality to make them give them a chance. Unfortunately, there are so many con artists/assholes out there that many times people with really good hearts get taken advantage of, and it sucks. I have a friend who is so genuinely sweet and nice that she always sees the best in people and gives them a chance. Unfortunately, she also alwyas ends up getting hurt.
