I love Maine Coons! I rescued two brothers and they are the best cats. They are huge and big lovies. I also rescued a Shar Pei from the same house. It was my brother's ex-roommate and he would leave them alone in the house for weeks on end. Disgusting. They have been with me for two years and just love it here.

That is just disgusting. Gee, y'think she might've been a little anti-social because she was tired of being abused? Birthing litter after litter is hard on the body of a cat, but as you have stated and proven, given time and care to recover, they return to the wonderful creatures they truly are. It's a shame for anyone to ever treat an animal so shabbily. They should be strung up by their private parts. Or do time as a scratching post in a kitten shelter.

Kizzy what really pisses me off is they were going to kill her because she was "red listed" due to being anti social and sick. I LOVE maine coons and could tell from her eyes she was just heart broken and exhausted. Put a little vitamin C in her water, let her rest, gave her space, and now she is part of the family. She is even patient with my 2 year old daughter. Great cat.

Absolutely genius idea for helping pets stay cool in the heat, my Persians are going to be thanking you in a few hours for it!!! Even with the A/C pumping, they still hog the vents. They would LOVE an ice bottle. Excellent point about popsugar, plus there's all that cotton candy webbing that gets all over, and that bubblegum film all over the screen. Makes me want to puke on something Laura Ashley.

We are FINALLY getting ordinances here in North Carolina against the chaining of dogs. There are so many that die each summer from just being chained up and left in the heat. We have mega humidity here, too, so when they give you the temp, they give you the heat index, what it feels like. When it's 98 outside, but it feels like 105-110, it's cold, heartless and cruel to chain up any animal without proper access to shade and cool water. I despise pet owners who have a certain breed simply so they can brag they have that breed. They have a responsibility to their pet, that they chose when they chose to have their pet. I hope that dog DOES get away, and comes running back to you. I'd be willing to bet money it already wants to.
