I adore Molly Shannon. I love Selma Blair. But the American Kath & Kim looks like a sizzling hot mound of piggy vomit. And not the good kind either. Yes, there's good kinds, but we'll discuss that at a later time.

The original Kath & Kim was on HEAVY rotation on The Sundance Channel for a while. Pretty standard on most cable packages.
As far as AbFab? That's been shown on American TV (Comedy Central) for YEARS. Long before we had the pleasure of BBC America.
And all I have to say is, thank god NBC never touched The Young Ones.

I love AbFab, and Mothers do 'ave 'em, and Little Britain- but here in the US you have to buy the dvds or watch bbc network at odd hours to view those shows.
Remakes, adaptations generally suck because what made the original good is that it was original and suited to the place and time in which it was made.

I remember when American television tried to do "Fawlty Towers", Britain's #1 comedy of all time as voted by them. Lasted one show. I had read some other country wanted to do "The Mary-Tyler Moore" show with all the same scripts and their native actors, so it's just not an American television thing.
And some time it works : "All In The Family".

Alas, an adaptation is (almost always) only as good as the source material, and the original sucked, sorry MK. The commercials for this they've been playing on TV are incomprehensible. The American public is not going to know wtf this is, and it also seems totally different than the rest of NBC's programming. I give it 3 episodes, which is too bad because I like Molly Shannon and Selma Blair.

Last night I watched Episode One of Flight of the Conchords.
It actually gets better as it goes along, so you have a lot to look forward too. If you can't wait, look for the clip of Jermaine singing Business Time. It's on my rotation of songs I sing to the women with whom I work.
I agree that Bret is better looking and adorable, but Jemaine is sexay!
