Yeah, I "dated" a 37-year old guy when I was 19, and we were together for about 5 months and it was definitely a learning experience. The attraction was definitely mutual, and the sex was P-H-E-N-O-M-E-N-A-L, but I always knew we could never be an actual relationship. We had to sneak around my mom (she knew him) and he referred to me as his "trphy girl" which I HATED! While I was still with this guy, I met my current boyfriend who is just awesome and had no regrets dumping Mr. Older-than-me-does-not-equate-too-good-for-me. Two and a half years later (well, technically, three years and more, but we briefly broke up) we're still kicking ass!

When I was 19 I dated a 40-year-old. It was fun but neither of it saw it as a serious relationship. Not only did he not take advantage of me (I went after him), he actually taught me a lot about myself, sex, etc, as cliched as it sounds. We split amicably, as they say in the tabs, and still talk occasionally. The only issue these two hos have is thinking that a marriage will last.
(Now, I can't imagine a dating a 19-year-old when I'm 40...I wouldn't want to date one now at 25. So sure, perhaps there are some underlying issues and some immaturity there, but it's ridiculous to assume that's automatically damaging.)

I think the whole point of people finding distaste with age gaps like this is the supposed imbalance of power. Hayden, having grown up in Hollywood, is not going to be our typical 18-year-old, and my guess is she has Milo wrapped around her tiny, underdeveloped, hobgoblin finger. Were any of us all that different between 17 and 18? Splitting hairs over a person's age like that is dumb and totally a man-made construction.
