A person cannot project a trait onto others that was not there to begin with. As a society, IMO, we look for people who share same values and tend to be more acceptable if someone new represents a value or trait that you are comfortable with.

Its actually not that common for Brits to go topless on the beach - we're a pretty prudish bunch too. Its much more common among the Mediterranean countries. So I'm also always quite surprised when I see Sienna topless in the papers. Particularly as she is famous and likely to be papped.
