Elisabeth Hasselbarf got all emotional on "The View" today while talking about the use of the "N" word. It all started when the group of hens started yapping about Jessie Jackson using the word in a news tape on Fox News. Elisabeth tried to argue that we all live in the same world and so nobody should use that word ever, because of the children. Think of the children!
That's when Whoopi turned on and told Elisabeth that we don't live in the same world, and that the word is only as powerful as we allow it to be. The fake bitch didn't understand this shit so she started breaking down.
You know when you hear bad news and you don't really care about it, but you think you should care about it, so you try and force the tears to come out? That's what Elisabeth was doing. Bitch needs to learn the "pull your pubic hairs" technique to bring on the real tears.
Ugh. She's so annoying! I just wanted Whoopi to calmly walk over and slap her in the teeth. That would've made the bitch cry for real.

I have to say that I am with Elizabeth on this one. There was a time that blacks were crying over the nigger word. They cried it's oppressive and the word held them back from advancing in civilization. Now since the rap/hip hop revelation it's ok "just between blacks" to call each other nigger or nigga but the whitey can't say it. BULLSHIT! The word is a negative connotation meaning ignorant,uneducated,unable to care for themselves etc. etc. The word was made up by WHITE PEOPLE! The word raises vital questions about the relationship between language, politics, social norms and how society and culture confront racism.
That being said what Whoopi was saying is VERY TRUE. Amongst black people (usually under educated people in my experience) the word is excepted as a term of endearment/comradery and that will likely not change. They (blacks) can say it, you (whitey) can't. Yup, same thing happened to my HP Pavilion Entertainment PC (thanks Kanye). But then I went to You Tube to find it, and it was even worse, the sound was waaayyy off from the mouths moving....was quite disturbing.
Whether Elizabeth is right or wrong, and she is usually wrong, she can't for the life of her argue a point effectively. And she often gets upset, and is yelling and impatient (or in this instance crying) if the argument doesn't go how she wants.
For someone who is really incapable of giving her "View" effectively, why do they still have this idiot on the show?

I thought I'd offer my 2 cents on the topic:
Being a black person I personally despise the word and will not use it. I don't understand those who say it's a term of endearment yet offensive when coming from 'the wrong people'. However, I will be honest and say I find it easier to ignore from another black. Is it right? No, but it's also not normally not meant to be offensive. I agree with Elisabeth in that I also feel NO ONE should use the word in any circumstance but dragging her little bad behind child into the story and then crying were unnecessary.
I'm going to have to disagree with anyone who earlier stating that we all live in "the same world". Yes, there's racism from people of ALL colors, but until you've been rejected not only by other races but by your own as well I don't think you'll ever fully understand. I work in a place where I am the only non-white person, and let me tell you, I've felt like a novelty on more than one ocassion. I've been looked at crosseyed because I don't use slang or like rap music. I've been accused of being 'uppity' and 'acting white' because I'm college educated and know how to use proper grammar. In this 'same world' we live in, somehow I'm considered to be abnormal. Until people are willingly to admit race is still a probelm in our country, issues like that are going to continue. I have no problem being asked questions by whites who are "black curious", as it gives me the opportunity to shoot down stereotypes.
For those of you who feel like you just can't win, maybe you're approaching the wrong people, or maybe you're uncomfortable because there's something inside of you that has yet to be addressed...just a thought.
