Elisabeth Hasselbarf got all emotional on "The View" today while talking about the use of the "N" word. It all started when the group of hens started yapping about Jessie Jackson using the word in a news tape on Fox News. Elisabeth tried to argue that we all live in the same world and so nobody should use that word ever, because of the children. Think of the children!
That's when Whoopi turned on and told Elisabeth that we don't live in the same world, and that the word is only as powerful as we allow it to be. The fake bitch didn't understand this shit so she started breaking down.
You know when you hear bad news and you don't really care about it, but you think you should care about it, so you try and force the tears to come out? That's what Elisabeth was doing. Bitch needs to learn the "pull your pubic hairs" technique to bring on the real tears.
Ugh. She's so annoying! I just wanted Whoopi to calmly walk over and slap her in the teeth. That would've made the bitch cry for real.
Thank God for crazy ass Barbara Walters who saved the day with her zany tongue.

I am a person of color and consider myself very liberal. I totally believe, however, that Elizabeth has a point. I believe in free speech and all that stuff, but I think Whoopi and Sheri are part of an old/changing school of thought of people who think only blacks can use the word "nigger." If the goal was to stop the use "nigger" by non-Blacks, then mission failed. Youth of all colors use "nigger" as a term of endearment these days -- I just have to listen to kids on the bus/subway -- black, white, Asian, and Latin use the word freely. If anything, the belief that non-blacks can use "nigger", has only spread the word and made it cool to use.

I havent watched the View in eons.
Even when I did watch the show regularly way back in the 90's with th eoriginal line up, I just didnt get the show.
I've always disliked the overtalking and the rushed feeling to the conversations. I assumed The View was forum to provide depth to conversations, I was wrong.

These days, however, it is used commonly as a term for Law Enforcement officials, and almost nobody remembers its origins. I guess that lends creedence to the argument that a word is only as powerful as you allow it to be. The difference here is in the history, I guess.
