The Dark Knight Made A Shit Load Of Cash
The Dark Knight knocked Spider-Man 3 off the top spot for the biggest opening weekend ever. TDK made around $155.3 million this weekend, beating SM3's $151.1 million opening last year. TDK also broke a bunch of other records too. Basically, people are losing it for this movie. Women that aren't even pregnant are going into labor over this shit. It's nuts.
Here's the top 5 movies at the box office this weekend:
1. The Dark Knight - $155.3 million
2. Mamma Mia! - $27.6 million
3. Hancock - $14 million
4. Journey to the Center of the Earth - $11.9 million
5. Hellboy II - $10 million
I skipped seeing TDK after I saw the 3-hour line from hell for it. It was worse than the fucking iPhone line! I opted for the homo fiesta known as Mamma Mia! At least I thought it was going to be a homo fiesta.
Seriously, I thought I was going to get butt fucked by a plethora of glittery gayness. NOT! It didn't even satisfy my homo tooth. It was AWFUL! First of all, it felt like I was watching it in the rec room of a retirement home. Memaws on my left, pepaws on my right. Second of all, Pierce Brosnan should never be allowed to sing ever again. They should have gotten Kermit the Frog to dub his singing voice. It would've sounded better. Even the memaws in the audience were laughing at him! When a memaw laughs at you, it's time to excuse yourself and sit in the nearest corner. Basically, don't pay money for this shit. Buy yourself a cocktail instead. It tastes better and won't leave you thinking bad thoughts about Pierce Brosnan.

American Psycho did it for me when I saw Bale in it. He was awesome! I remember he was in The Little Women movie. Sorta dug him in that too, was a cutie. I tried to see TDK last nite, it was friggin impossible! Ended up seeing Wall-E. You should have seen that MK, I heard Mamma Mia sucked ASS! And not in the way that you like, obviously!

Oh and Breakdown I agree, Christian is the true definition of A list, and one of the few left (Johnny Depp also falls into this category for me). He's the whole package and the best part is he keeps his personal life private and doesnt seem to crave the spotlight, unlike some other less noteworthy celebs who constantly command attention every time they take a shit or fly to another location.

I think they put Katebot in it for a few reasons.
1) they needed a female lead for Batman that would be cheap to procure, since the budget was already sky high
2) they needed someone with buzz around them (and for those of you that don't think Cruise-Holmes was not months of planning better think again)
3) they needed someone that took nothing from Batman. (but on the flip side, she did not GIVE anything either)

I think it's wrong that all the commercials for this movie feature Heath Ledger almost exclusively. They're capitalizing on his sensational death. The movie is not "The Joker". It's "The Dark Knight"!
I'd be pissed if I were Christian Bale; Heath Ledger is stealing his thunder. And there's no way around it without looking like he's jealous of a dead guy.

Hekki, I'm sure it was a hard angle to resist hyping up. They could have done it in a worse way (I suppose), believe me, but you're right, it's still tactless and rude to all the main principle actors by advertising the Joker role as the main reason to see this movie.
I'm sure Heath did a wonderful job but for him alone to be 'showcased' is a little ridiculous.
Bale is wonderful as Batman and would have sold the film without the hype but it's sometimes human nature to want to want to canonize a person in this way. *shrugs*

I just came back from Mama Mia and I liked it. Mr Brosnan should not sing it's true and the one from Cybill should never agree to do sexay dancing with someone young enough to be her grandson either. However, Miss Streep v good and overall fun film. Dark Knight not here yet but think I will give that a go. Queue for films? How quaint, book online.

And let's also pause for a moment of gratitude for Katie Holmes not stinking up the second movie, because she thought "Mad Money" would be more acceptable to Mr. Tiny Has Been. She was the worst thing about the first movie, and I'm so glad we didn't have to deal with all his hyperactive hand-pumping and control-freak ways on "Dark Knight's" set.

I knew WHY they put Katie Holmes in the Batman franchise, but I was glad when she backed out and her career didn't take off like she thought it would after signing on the hellish dotted line.
Now with Gyllenhall on board, I can say with confidence that all the main leads can act.
