Amy Wino Is The New Dr. Drew
When I first read the line, "Amy Winehouse Volunteers to Help Drug Addicts," I immediately though to myself, "Help them with what? Help them to be better crackheads?" I mean, is she going to hold their hair back while they hit the pipe? According to Amy Wino's friends, she wants to counsel them.
One friend told Heat Magazine, "She's spoken to rehab centers and addiction clinics about doing volunteer work and has offered to do some talks to the in-patients about her experiences and how she overcame what have been some of the hardest, darkest days of her life. Her family have been a rock for her and she feels like she owes others something."
Hmmm...Wino is up to something. She probably used up all her druggie contacts, so she's trying to fill up her Rolodex with new ones. You know, she's just networking.
Wino is going to find it extremely difficult to talk to someone who won't stop laughing due to the fact that they're getting counseled by the one and only Crackie of Camden.
Never trust a news story that says "a friend says". The "friend" is always their PR. Its just a code word journos use. If it was a genuine friend they'd give their name. And Paris Herpes - there is no way on God's earth that Wino is 24 - its well known she's shaved a good few years off her age to appeal to a younger market. I would say she's nearer 30.
Eh, my aunt used to have a drug problem a couple of years ago. She's no longer on drugs, but she still struggles because of her past.
However, she's closer to her family than ever now. She's a wonderful mother to her children, and I think if someone who really struggled with drugs as my aunt had, with a little bit of additional help, anyone can recover, and help others.
I'm going to take a break from being a heartless douchebag and say good on her.
She's the oldest looking 24 year old in the world, GAH! Smoking DOES age your ass. I'm so glad I haven't smoked since last nite (and I only had like 3). I'm trying to quit but been off and on for years. At least I don't smoke crack (and never have and never WILL!)

I hope so. But the problem with her is that if/when she gets better, what next? A lot of people in the industry has written her off, and all the people (some in her family) that she thought she could trust, only used her. The chance to relapse after that realization is VERY high. I think the more problems she gets, the more she uses.
She's not doing it for fun anymore. She's just an addicted singer who could've showed all the Rihannas of the world what REAL talent is.

I think it would do her some good to hear other peoples' stories on WHY they got into the drug scene. Up to now, Amy's only talked about being young and getting her nuts off, as why. Hearing and seeing other people might help her focus on what exactly it is that made her want to do drugs.
