Damn, she makes Angelina look healthy in comparison. I can't help it; I like Madge's music. She seems like a nasty person, but I've been a fan on and off since she debuted. I was too young to be a Madonna wannabe, but I always loved that look back in the 80s.

As for Lourdes, if that's an awkward phase, I sure as heck would have liked to have had hers rather than mine at that age. I dressed like a dork, couldn't style my hair and was as white as a ghost due to my lack of ability to tan. Lola has some extra hair, but otherwise she looks very chic.

Madge looks almost like she's dying though. She needs rest and nourishment.

I know the sadness is all over. My mom, in particular, was born during the second world war and my grandpa was in the army and they both were drinking LOTS (my grandma made me go to Alanon even tho no one was drinking by the time I came around... Yeesh! I WISH my mom woulda had a drink, dude!).

Yes I know people who are "In the Know" were listening to GlassCandy in 99 and 01. Back when they used to play at a Bowling alley in Los Angeles. Duh. Don't try it. I so agree with everything you said. I'm at a point that forgiving and letting go is my only way out. My mother stepped on the last straw of my kindness and pity towards her and I've realized she is just NO GOOD in my life. I really wanted her to be a little part of my family but she's proven time and time again that she is jealous of me and still wishes evil things towards me. My own daughter saw it for herself and told me how scary it was to see my mother look at me with such evil intent. Thank you for your kind post and believe me, forgiving is for ME but when she denies so much TRUTH it anchors my heart way more than I should let it.

Dot, I had to intrude here because I feel your pain for real. I too had an abusive mother and that shit can haunt you forever. Makes you feel like you don't even deserve to live if your own mother didn't love you. I can assure you that your mother does remember what she did and the guilt of it haunts her as much as it does you. Which is why abusers keep abusing. The guilt eats them alive so they keep striking out at whoever is closest. The only way to break this cycle is with forgiveness. I know, I know, who wants to forgive someone who messed their head up big time? But it's the only way to get free of the pain. This is done in your mind, NOT to them. I'm not saying that you have to say this to them, especially if you are staying away to protect yourself. But every time the pain of your past comes up you just do a little meditation in your mind saying "I forgive and this pain will disappear."

This forgiveness is FOR you. Don't even think about whether they deserve to be forgiven or not, just use it to heal yourself of the pain and trauma. If you are willing to offer up forgiveness it is YOU that will get free and healed of the pain. Remember, I'm not saying that you have to say this to your mother, just do the work in your own mind, for you. I know it works as it is how I got free of past abuse. I can't say I don't remember it anymore but it doesn't hurt and control me anymore. I have peace about it and it was applying forgiveness that gave it to me.

Sorry to intrude on your business but I can't help but reach out to someone in this kind of pain because I've been there and I know this actually works better than all the shrinkage and therapy in the world. Hope you can find some peace, no one deserves to be abused. Ever.

I always thought Madonna was one ugly bitch who overcompensated for her rather ordinary looks by doing stupid things: trying to look like Marilyn Monroe but looking too low rent to pull it off; putting out the Sex book which had the curious effect of making sex and nudity boring; adopting stupid accents when we all know she is a skank from Michigan; bringing vogueing to the masses years after it was popular in the clubs; and trying to hang on to any semblance of self respect as she aged.

As for Lourdes, the girl is 11. She probably has no idea what she really looks like. I was about her age when I realized that everyone (this was in the 70s) on TV was skinny and it was time to diet! Before that moment I never thought about what my body looked like in comparison to others. Let's let her be an adolescent and not fuck her self-image up, too, like her crazy mom's.

For the person who said Madonna's album is for those in the know then you obviously have no idea about what's really in the know. Let me give you an update child. Yes People are paying to see her live but when it comes to her album I think a lot of Madonna's fan will say it is cringe worthy. First of all at 50 singing "See my booty get down like what". O.k. not o.k. not eve slightly O.K. for Mimi Carey. The only good Pop album out there currently is Kylie Minogue's X. Its to bad it didn't do so well here in the states but it did great elsewhere. People who are in the "Know" are listening to GlassCandy, Chromatics, Hercules and Love Affair, Cut Copy, Kitsune Tabloid, etc.

Madonna has lost her touch. I'm a fan and I could admit it. She lost it when she thought she was cool at Misshapes in NYC in 06. Too bad she didn't realize that she should have been going to Boombox in London.

angel, I agree. I always feel like I'm trying to 'fit' into a niche that I just can't fit into. I go against the grain which pisses my husband off but he's finally accepted that I can't be pushed around because I had enough of that from my mother and being ME took a lot of work and effort. -But, yes, I'm still wounded inside and it still hurts now and again but the pain has subsided enough where I can LIVE and be FREE of that bitch.

I certainly wouldn't be surprised if Madonna's children came out with a "Mommy Dearest" book of their own some day.
