R.I.P. LeRoi Moore
LeRoi Moore, the saxophonist for the Dave Matthews Band, died yesterday in Los Angeles at the young age of 46. LeRoi was seriously injured in an ATV accident on his farm in Virginia on June 30th. He suffered a punctured lung and several broken ribs. He was released a few days later, but returned to the hospital last month due to complications from his injuries.
LeRoi was also a founding member of the Dave Matthews Band and co-wrote several songs. The band paid tribute to him at their show in Los Angeles last night. Dave Matthews told the audience, "We all had some bad news today. Our good friend LeRoi Moore passed on and gave his ghost up today and we will miss him forever."

Such a nice guy, he will be missed. I remember meeting him once after a concert. a very Cool Cat. DMB will never be the same.
Leroi Moore Special Report
This is odd: he was admitted June 30th, for a punctured lung and fractured ribs, then discharged a few days later.
He was readmitted July 17th, and had been in the hospital since then. Something went wrong. Sepsis? Embolism?
People survive a collapsed lung and fractured ribs. Maybe more info will be released.

Saw Leroi's last show here in VA back in June. He will be very missed. As cliche as it can sound - their music really helped me get through college - not that I wouldn't have made it - but it was a good source to goto for relaxation. Leroi's contribution to their sound and music is inmeasureable.

Dave and the band were seen crying while getting on the tour bus to go to the show. Roi would've hatetd it if they didn't play because of him.

The band taking the stage last night was unbelievably hard, so spare me the "neohippie yapping" some of you have been saying. He was a brother to them, a founding member of the band. They played last night in his honor. If Dave found it troubling to find the correct words, I don't blame him.

The DMB was awesome before they made it big. I was in school in VA when they were just starting out. Remember Two Things (their first self-released album) is awesome. All their big studio releases are over-produced.

Oh man, this is going to kill my 15-yr old. I dragged him to see DMB with me this summer, much to the teasing of his football teammates, and he surprised himself (a die-hard rap fan) by getting really into the music...he played sax when he was younger so he was just really impressed with Moore...
So, so sad. What a tragic loss.

My BIL was on one and it flipped over, breaking his neck. He was in the woods, the ambulance couldn't find him, he almost died. I'll spare you the details of how they found him.
