I totally disagree with this, but won't fight about it with you. Discussing and arguing (controversial or posts where people have polarizing views) may bring people in, but if they post or open an account and are insulted and called trolls by the majority,they won't come again. Moreover, MK does not make money by the people that come in and post but the amount of people at his website who come for his sense of humor. Most people never read the comments to begin with -- which is likely good based on some of the crap that goes on the posts lately.

PSL, I understand how you feel but what's funny is, if you noticed, yesterday there was very little 'poo' talk and far more people were actively posting, funny entertaining posts. When the poo talk's happening nothing much else is happening. I just look at it and think, okay, I'm not participating in that but I'm still going to participate the way I want. I didn't intend on getting in the middle of a blog 'situation' and like I mentioned then, maybe there is already friction between people, or certain groups.
You didn't come off as bossy at all. But the reaction was juvenile. In my opinion, everyone has the right to speak their minds, but that doesn't mean one shouldn't at least be civil. Save the snark for the celebrities, not the posters. That behavior only hurts the blog, which in turn hurts MK, which in turn hurts all of the posters.
That being said, even if there is a homophobe or racist here, as much as I hate it, I would never report them. This isn't a daycare. MK shouldn't have to babysit.
That concludes my time on the soapbox. As I said before, it was just my outsider's perspective. I really don't want to be personally involved.
