Palin & Fey: Together At Last (Sort Of, Kind Of)

Sarah Fey and Tina Palin (on purpose typo) shared the same stage on SNL (aka The Sarah Palin Show) last night. Yes, they did share the stage.....for a quick second! They crossed paths and quickly glanced at each other. It was a magically strange moment that can be described in two words: acid flashback.

I think I like Tina Fey's version of Sarah Palin better than Sarah Palin's. Especially her fancy pageant walk! I could have watched that all night.

Alec Baldwin and Marky Mark also made cameos in the opening sketch which was a little awkward and uncomfortable. It was like watching my divorced parents at Thanksgiving dinner together. I didn't know whether to stare at them the whole time or medicate myself with pills and booze.

And was that a llama or a pony in the background?! Why did it only get ass time? Forget it. I just answered my own question.

Below is Sarah Palin's other appearance on Weekend Update. Amy Poehler is like 15-months pregnant and she can still rap! The bitch has skills. Todd and the moose was a nice touch, but where was Joe Sixpack and Joe the Plumber?! SNL probably couldn't afford their appearance fees.

I think he or she also meant to use the word ELUDE not allude. But then since he or she is a fan of Dubya's I suppose propre use of the English language ELUDES him (or her)

Also, you can have an opinion about law degrees when you get one. Until then, rely on the judgment of those who have them, that it involves a bit more than "bullshitting" and a command of the English language (which I got with a B.A. in English, much like Palin herself.) Sorry if I'm a bit touchy on the subject, I'm just tired of hearing the same old bit about lawyers again and again. You can't lump everyone of ANY profession into one category.

And I would rather have a lawyer who graduated from one of the best law schools in this country RUNNING this country than someone who barely graduated from college, a category which includes both McCain AND Palin. Why are people so obsessed with the idea of the "liberal elite" and don't consider the fact that the "average Joe" is completely ill-equipped to run this country? I don't care what party you are, I just want you to be somewhat informed and educated. Bush I and II and Reagan certainly weren't. Other Republican presidents have been.

I agree a whole lot of it should be put on the Bush Administration. He sux at life!

But I don't think the housing crisis has anything to do with 'voodoo economics'. Just living beyond your means.

My bad, thought his Yale one was in law.

John McCain would be the oldest man ever to be elected to the Presidency. John McCain has had a very serious form of cancer which could very easily re-occur. John McCain has refused to make his medical records public.

If John McCain were elected and dies during the next 4 years, Sarah Palin would be President. That is why so many people are scared shitless, get it yet???

Sarah Palin is no more qualified to be president than I am and I, at least, have had a passport for more than 20 years and traveled outside of the US many times. I guess in Republican terms means that I am MORE qualified on foreign policy that she is!

Bush doesn't have an Ivy law degree. He has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, which his father bought his way into. Get your facts straight before you start spreading rumors! (Does that sound familiar?) That information is a quick Google away from anyone who wants to check his or her facts before posting, as I often do. Others are happy to spread whatever lies pop into their heads.

Bush and Clinton pushed home ownership for low income people. THEY forced banks to give these people loans, and guess what they couldn't pay it back. That's what happens when government legislates the free market. Thank that pandering for the current economic crisis.
--------------------------------------------------
Um, the policies you allude to here were put in place during the Reagan administration. Bush himself coined the term "voodoo economics" in reference to policies like this one and others.

Think about that, Bush said that about his boss' policies and with good reason. It opened up new markets for lenders to go buck wild without restraint and we have what we have here now, a big effin mess that'll take years to recover from.

And I would bet you good money the majority of those defaulted loans are less than eight years old. Now who was in the White House during those years again??

B. He has nothing to show for those 4 years.

C. He's running vs. MCCAIN!!! Palin wouldn't BE president, why does this fact always allude democrats during their arguments? And if McCain did croak it would be a Dem senate n house which would equal a lame duck presidency.

D. Being a senator doesn't mean you run a state. Or anything for that matter. It means you cast a single vote out of 100.

E. Bush has an Ivy league Law degree. Guess what? I want 'CHANGE' so i'm voting for the people WITHOUT a Law degree. And law degree's in my opinion, just mean you have an excellent command of the English language....and could lie/bullshit well.

TITS, that's a cool concept. I wish it were that way here. Of course, it would only take a decade or less for the politicians to screw that up as well here. It's only taken America 200 years to corrupt itself, rather than the thousand of years it took for the Roman Empire to self desruct. Then again, we're nothing if not inventive.

On another note I was falling in and out of sleep when that singer Adele's gorgeous voice brought me to full consciousness. I guessed she was british by her sound and by the guys in the band.

God, why can't our country produce singers like that instead of the likes of Ms. Cheeto or Beyonce? Hell, even Christina goes too far with the histrionics sometimes. Just write a good song and sing it fer chrissakes.

I googled her and found out she's a product of the british version american idol, ole Simon Cowell's got some involvement.

Tell me how two years as GOVERNOR of a state of 600,000, with a B.A. (not Ph.D., not J.D., not M.D., but B.A.) makes one more qualified than four years as a SENATOR of a state of 12,000,000, with a J.D. from Harvard (and who didn't attend that school because one or another of his parents had). You can't!

Jesse Jackson?? Hahaha, I love it. You people never stop do you?? Saying JJ speaks for all blacks is like saying David Duke speaks for all whites.

Jesse and his generation have outlived their usefulness as leaders. Only certain groups still hold Mr. Jackson in such high esteem. Their point of reference still remains the time of the Civil Rights era and the 10 or 12 years following King's assassination. There's a new generation out there that's come of age but I guess Jesse is still a good hot button for the conservatives to push.

Well, ironically, you're talking to a lawyer. Think what you like, but we learn a lot more than "bullshitting" in law school. At the very least, I have a much better idea of how this country runs than Sarah Palin does. And I can name a few Supreme Court cases other than Roe v. Wade (unlike Palin).

But I'm certainly not as qualified as Obama. Look at it however you may, but being the editor of the Harvard Law Review (particularly when you're not a 'legacy' student) is quite an accomplishment. Shitting out five kids, taking five years to complete your B.A. at SIX different colleges, and killing some moose is not.

Bam Bam- I don't think its bad at all. You're right every other race does it, so why not blacks. It sure beats having Jesse Jackson as your go to leader!

And for aquarious the only qualification Obama has that Palin doesn't is a Law degree from Harvard. Not a mathematics one, or a science one, or an economic one. Never invented anything, never ran a business or dealt with a payroll. Nope he has a Law degree, which is the science of BULLSHITTING! Vote for who you want to, just spare everyone the "I'm high brow because I'm voting for Barack" schtick. Because he really isn't some extraordinary person. He delivers speeches well, which gives people 'hope' or whatever that's his claim to fame.

NitWitty's picture

Hey, BamBam! How they hangin' doll? IMO, a politician is a politician, doesn't matter what party or race..They've greased so many palms and made so many side deals by the time they run for election that it doesn't matter who votes them in. In the end, they'll do what the folks that gave them the money want them to do once they're in office.
I believe if everyone registered "independent" and made the candidates tell them what they were going to do for them, then either the heads of all the spoon-fed dems and repubs would explode because they'd actually have to ask themselves what was truly important to them -- today, rather than reaching back to hear what their parents/role models said was the gospel of politics when they were young and impressionable, or the candidates would actually have to work for your vote. They wouldn't be voted in based on preconceived notions of what a "party leader" will do.
WOW! Can't believe I just went "there" since I'm the first one to think: Why the hell are people talking politics on DL, don't they know Fox or CNN political forums are just down the hall and to the left or right? LOL

No doubt some are because of the symbolism it represents given our social history in this country. But as republicans are wont to do, it ignores similar situations in favor of advancing their argument.

Do you think Irish Americans voted for Kennedy purely based on his policies?? Or that Italian Americans regularly honor Justices Scalia and Alito purely based on their ideologies??

No. There's an element of cultural pride seeing one of your own achieve the highest positions of power and authority. Every group does it, it's human nature so why is it all of a sudden bad if some blacks do it?? Hmmmm......

^^^^^^^^
Whether or not he marries women in order to hide his homosexuality does not negate it. It's his natural sexual inclination that he has no choice in, not whether he marries or not.

Blacks have consistently voted Democratic for at least 70 years now if not a whole century. So now that the Democratic candidate is a black person our votes are for racist reasons??
