Palin & Fey: Together At Last (Sort Of, Kind Of)
Sarah Fey and Tina Palin (on purpose typo) shared the same stage on SNL (aka The Sarah Palin Show) last night. Yes, they did share the stage.....for a quick second! They crossed paths and quickly glanced at each other. It was a magically strange moment that can be described in two words: acid flashback.
I think I like Tina Fey's version of Sarah Palin better than Sarah Palin's. Especially her fancy pageant walk! I could have watched that all night.
Alec Baldwin and Marky Mark also made cameos in the opening sketch which was a little awkward and uncomfortable. It was like watching my divorced parents at Thanksgiving dinner together. I didn't know whether to stare at them the whole time or medicate myself with pills and booze.
And was that a llama or a pony in the background?! Why did it only get ass time? Forget it. I just answered my own question.
Below is Sarah Palin's other appearance on Weekend Update. Amy Poehler is like 15-months pregnant and she can still rap! The bitch has skills. Todd and the moose was a nice touch, but where was Joe Sixpack and Joe the Plumber?! SNL probably couldn't afford their appearance fees.

What's funny is that Sarah was once a sports newscaster, so she looked quite appropriate behind the news desk in the second skit.
Dignity and credibility were over in this election long before this.
How dignified is it for a candidate to dance around on the Ellen show? That was so awkward to watch.

I wouldn't vote for McCain/Palin even if I was threatened with disembowelment but I will say it was cool of her to show up on SNL. And Amy Poehler is the hotness and then some!

Tina completely dissed Palin by glancing down and away from her as they passed. She may not like the woman's politics, but I thought that was just rude. It didn't strike me as part of the skit, either, like Fey was supposed to be embarrassed. It looked like a purposeful snub. Just entertain me, Tina Fey, I don't care to hear what your politics are.
Way to amp up the superficiality of US politics! This had its moments, if you can divorce your mind from the real topic at hand. Nice to see the set of priorities not just with the McCain-Palin platform but with the whole US political machine...
The States is many fries short of a Happy Meal but it's reassuring to see everyone can laugh about it though.
At least in Canada the whole machine moves so much more quickly and we simply elect our crap governments one month after the announcement of an election, instead of dragging it out this painfully for a damn year. Was this really a must-do appearance? Christ, does everyone just watch TV down there?

Regardless of whether the skits were funny or not, this unqualified VP candidate has just lost every last speck of credibility. Terrible idea to go on a show like this. This woman is trying to become the second most powerful and influential person in the world, just a heartbeat away from the Presidency! So she's got a sense of humor, who gives a crap? We are in crisis and she thinks that getting some cheap laughs will endear her to us and make us forget that she's clueless? Terrorists the world over must be praying that this numbskull attention whore ends up in office. I'm voting for class, dignity, eloquence, inspiration and a thoughtful, diplomatic demeanor. Guess which ticket that is?

Loved it! I almost pissed myself during Tina's delivery and Amy's rapping. I can't stand Palin and I do not think she's a good VP candidate by any means, however, showing up on SNL showed that she has a good sense of humour. It also showed what her real calling is: the entertainment industry. Heff should definitely give her a call.

I loved this. I was one of the undecided after Hillary lost the primary, and now support Obama.
I don't like McCain, or Palin, but have to hand it to her for going on SNL. She does have a sense of humor.
Loved the skits, the rapping was hilarious.

Obama says the same things we've heard all over about Iraq, and saing he will listen to the UN oooh but then if he doesn't like it he will take it into his own hands...so why even bother "listening to the un??" and Mcgrandfather...don't make me start...

I admit that I laughed out loud a lot during this particular show. Amy cracked me the hell up.
Okay now I've watched both skits. Um, what was the point of Palin being there again? She just kind of stood their and let them make fun of her...didn't add to it so she could laugh with them, didn't argue against it, just sort of stood in the middle of funny skits. Hmm, kind of like McCain's appearance on Letterman--he trashed him, McCain knew it was going to happen, but he showed up to take his beating for the sake of...publicity? I'm pretty disappointed with McCain. McCain is a much better man than this and now he's let his strategist take over his campaign in a way he never would have run it...he has a stink eye running mate, uses smear campaigning, and is doing anything to just win. I really think he would have done better being the more noble man that he is and kicking out his ruthless strategists, they've only added elements of shock value. Way to sell out McCain. And this has nothing to do with Obama so I don't really care to hear about what he's done to sell out, I'm just disappointed that a good candidate has become someone else to win. I guess it's all politics.
