Jennifer Hudson's Mother & Brother Found Dead
Sad news out of Chicago. Jennifer Hudson's mother was found dead in her Chicago home at around 3 this afternoon. Two people were found fatally shot in the South Side home. The family's church confirmed that one of the victims was 57-year-old Darnell Hudson. The identity of the other victim hasn't been confirmed yet.
Condolences to Jennifer Hudson and her family.
UPDATE: The other victim has been identified as Jennifer's brother, Jason. They were found by Jennifer's cousin. Police believe the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute. Police are reportedly looking for a man and a 7-year-old boy. (Source)
UPDATE II: The boy is Jennifer's nephew, Julian King. An Amber Alert has been issued. Police believe Julian was taken from the home. They are looking for a 1994 White Chevy Suburban with license plate: X584859. (Source)
UPDATE III: Jennifer Hudson's brother-in-law, William Balfour, was arrested by police. JHud's nephew Julian is still missing. William isn't cooperating with police or giving any kind of information. They believe William kidnapped Julian from the home after the murders. Police are still looking for Julian.
William has a long, long criminal history. He has served 7 years in prison for attempted murder.
Neighbors are saying that William and Julia had been fighting for the past two weeks over a car. They say William sold her car without her permission. (Source)

I'll say this, Britain and other European countries have far stricter gun laws than do we here in the States. Crime still exists over there but in most to be found with a gun means a mandatory five sentence. Needless to say there's a lot less death from shootings over there.
They also in the process of jailing a comedian for years for making fun of the pope. And words are banned there. And 5 years for not harming someone, but for what you might do is fucking fascist. This is so effing depressing. No, I'm not personally affected by this tragedy but I it does sadden my heart and yes, I will cry over shit that won't make my tomorrow any different...or will it? I refuse to be apathetic and even though me being upset over something that I can do nothing about means jack-shit it might remind me again that life is precious and often way too short. :(
-And, the gun discussion is a hard one for me because my husband owns a rifle but keeps it hidden because he knows guns freak me the fuck out because my bio father was a full-on gun toting piece of pure psycho-rapist-shit. Eh, I probably should edit that out but wtf...I think I've mentioned that before anyhow. :\ ANYWAY, Pandora's box is open, guns are here to stay even if guns are outlawed low-lifes and thugs will be the only ones packing heat. -But, truth is...guns make killing too easy. You have to really think about killing someone by drowning them, strangling them, stabbing them etc. Up close killing is far more real and personal. Aiming and shooting is too simple and frankly cowardly in a lot of instances.
