Nancy Grace had the mother of William Balfour, the dude accused of murdering Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew, on her show last night and proved to the broad that she's not the woman to fuck with. Michelle Davis Balfour claims her son isn't involved in the murders and she kept changing her story throughout the interview. Michelle also got all sassy and shit with Nancy! That is not the thing to do. Finally, Nancy unlocked her bobble head and told Michelle what's what.
Even though Nancy got bitchy with Michelle, she never fully unleashed her fury. Has motherhood changed Nancy? In the old days, her head would've completely turned around and she would've pounced through the screen with open claws.

kacky - I never said that! It doesn't make me feel safe or superior in any way shape or form. That's a huge leap.
I've simply stated that in this particular case... I don't find it too difficult to conclude that if one associates and surrounds their child with violent criminals, the chances of harm coming their way increases. One would like to think a parent would minimize risk to their children.
You are drawing your own conclusions about what I think. Which is fine and is your right or whatever... but you're wrong. Obviously shit happens to people randomly, as well... but to deny that dating and marrying a violent criminal as risky behavior is mind-boggling to me. I'm also not saying an ex-con can't go straight - I'm just saying you take a risk believing it.
Julia Balfour took a big risk bringing this man into her life. Can you honestly say that last sentence is untrue? If she wants to fuck around with a "thug," more power to her - she just should have waited another 11 years or so, IMO. Don't make your kid suffer through your lousy choices. A much more likely scenario in situations like this isn't the death of the child; it's more likely the child has to watch his mom be treated like shit, maybe the kid is, too. and the relationships totally dysfunctional. and they break up and get back together. and there's prolly lots of cheating. and prolly drugs around. and weapons, maybe, too. and the kid sees all this and then responds to it by mirroring it or killing animals or maybe deciding to do better as an adult - but whatever. I'm tired of these kids being robbed of their innocence and childhood and the good faith right they *should* have to being able to depend on their parents.
Being a parent is a full-time responsibility and people just all too often don't see it as such. That was my initial rant that sparked all of this. I'm just tired of of half-assed parents who put their needs and wants above those of their kids. and yeah, I'm probably a little bitter about it. ~haha

James Haven knows just how nasty Nancy Grace can get. James Haven was working odd jobs to help pay for acting lessons (not that he needs any, but he wanted to brush up. So James Haven used to have a breakfast cart filled with donuts, bagels, coffee, tea and crumb buns.
Nancy Grace loved Raspberry filled Jelly Donuts. She would suck the Raspberry out of the donut and then dunk the donut in water. Nasty!
One day she asks James Haven for her "usual". James Haven had ran out of Jelly Donuts and suggested a Crumb Bun instead. "YOU eat the crumb bun, you damn fool! You're a pathetic excuse for a breakfast man"! What the?! James Haven has been called many things but a breakfast man? Is there even such a thing?
Nancy didn't stop there - she grabbed James Haven's cart and pushed it down the hall. Donuts and crumb buns went flying. As James Haven knelt to pickup the donuts, Nancy began stepping on them and screaming: "I want mah jelly donut, I want mahhhh jelly donuuutt" It took three secretaries and a burly Xerox man to carry her out of there.
James Haven turned in his cart that day and got a new job as an assistant to Larry King's breakfast man. James Haven will never forget the scowl on Nancy's face. It haunts him til this very day!

I never said she brought this on herself at all; however, that does not negate having made poor choices. Hence, the reason behind the saying "Hindsight's 20/20." Obviously, we can all look back at various experiences and have better insight into poor choices that may have lead down a path to the outcome. Certainly, had Julia not pursued the relationship, the chances of this happening are less.
It is ignorant to simply assume the only reason for my comments are fear and self-gratification. I'm not making glib kneejerk proclamations.
As for the weight, it has nothing to do with the murders. That is just stupid and for anyone to even come to such a conclusion obly proves the lack of thought they put into the topic at hand. Deny he was double the weight he should be. Deny the health implications this could cause. The weight was mentioned simply as a point that Julia may not have had her parental priorities striaght*. Certainly, not every parent of an overweight child is directly responsible, obviously genetics and possible disease are factors... but considering the extent of the numbers in this case, I cannot help but wonder what kind of nutrition and meals were provided. This is simply one piece in a much larger puzzle.
Further, if Julia Hudson were trafficking drugs, we now have yet another poor parental choice. So even if Balfour is innocent and it was a drug-related crime, she still has made poor choices that lead to the path of the crime. I am not saying she is responnsible, should be punished, or "amde it happen," so to speak. What I am saying is that this stands to show that we as a society should learn from this - learn to be bettter parents, learn to avoid risk, and to take it a step further - maybe we need to learn, as angel_i as pointed out, to better understand the unique circumstances of living in urabn areas and try to find solutions to the roblems of such .
*I would also guess it is very possible that the family as a whole may not have a background in nutritional cooking - and this, too, could fall in with these cultural differences. Research has shown it's certainly correlated to income.

Regardless of any mistakes Julia may have made, there are plenty of children who are killed each year through no fault of their parents. Adam Walsh is a good example. Putting the blame for this child's death on anyone but the actual killer(s) might make you feel as though the same thing couldn't ever happen to YOUR children, but this is not the case. I certainly hope no one reading this ever finds him or herself in such a situation.
By that same token, wishing death on someone's child or children simply because you disagree with them on a certain point is pretty fucking low, particularly when the death-wisher is simultaneously expressing sympathy for another dead child. Of course, considering the source, none of us should be too surprised...

I also read William's father is serving time for murder and his brother (has or is doing) a stint in jail too. I wonder if this is why she is trying to come to William's defense.
I just believe that if he was completely innocent, he would have said so instead of refusing to speak while in custody. Just my take on things.
Our justice systems says everyone is innocent until proven guilty...HOWEVER, I would say this situation with William is just a bit suspect. And his mother is doing and saying a lot to try to protect him. Plus, she is throwing the Hudson family under the bus with other accusations and innuendo.
I just can't see Jennifer Hudson's mother letting her son sell drugs out of her house.

I firmly believe his mother was responsible for his disappearence and or death.
