After Obama was declared the HBIC of the United States, bitches took to the streets in celebration! Everywhere from NYC to San Francisco to New Orleans to Sydney to Paris, people cheered, boozed, rejoiced and acted crazy in the streets. I even saw stranger's hug each other! Complete strangers! Seriously. I thought that kind of behavior was extinct!

Above is a clip from Los Angeles of a reporter smelling "weed in the air" at an Obama victory party. Hey, that's what my party smelled like. And that dude is a NARC! Keep that shit to yourself. Sorry, I ran away. Hemp could replace a LOT of things that make a few people rich. It was eons ago when it became an issue...when the hemp industry was first trying to build itself - I don't have the facts available right now but if you look you will see that just as it was starting to gain momentum - that's the same time that "the DANGERS of Marijuana" became so serious they had to talk about it ALL the time.
Also, same as absynthe: Weed is not a cool aspect of a warrior society. Alcohol is helpful but weed is not. You can rally even the most level headed drunks into battle - stoners: not so much.

As for the "cult" thing, yeah, we really shouldn't put him on a pedestal...he's just a human. I think he is going to try his damndest to fulfill his promises, but come on. He's not Superman. But it IS all about intention, and I believe his heart is in the right place. I think many people are just excited in the same way they were excited about MLK Jr. It's NICE to finally have someone to look up to. I mean, just 50/60 years ago, Black people couldn't even sit at the front of the bus, couldn't sit at a "white" lunch counter or use a "white" bathroom or water fountain! So, in that respect this is AMAZING. I think this will do wonders for race relations in the US. Last night I was at the Democratic Election Night party here in Raleigh and it was a sea of different ages and colors. Some 70-something year old lady grabbed me and hugged me when they called it for Obama. She is old enough to remember the Civil Rights Movement and she's grabbing ME, a 35 year old White girl, to celebrate a Black man being president! I love it!
I don't think it's "Obama" per se, but what his campaign has represented, that people are so excited about. So I don't really see him as a cult figure at ALL. People want to connect w. other people, they're SICK of divisiveness, sick of the hate...I truly believe that most people (no matter who they voted for) want to work together to fix this broken country. THAT is what people are excited about, not necessarily Barack Obama (although, let's be honest, how exciting is it to have a president who is a nice person AND INTELLIGENT)...it's that FINALLY the President of the United States is on the same page as the country he leads!
And I think it is VERY important that other countries agree w. our choice of president. We are not living in a bubble. We've already negatively affected the world market, for example. I, for one, appreciate imput from elsewhere!
