Weed In The Air!

After Obama was declared the HBIC of the United States, bitches took to the streets in celebration! Everywhere from NYC to San Francisco to New Orleans to Sydney to Paris, people cheered, boozed, rejoiced and acted crazy in the streets. I even saw stranger's hug each other! Complete strangers! Seriously. I thought that kind of behavior was extinct!

The Huffington Post has a few pictures of hos celebrating around the country and the world.

Above is a clip from Los Angeles of a reporter smelling "weed in the air" at an Obama victory party. Hey, that's what my party smelled like. And that dude is a NARC! Keep that shit to yourself. Whenever you smell weed in public, you keep quiet, make your way to the source and politely say, "Pass the blunt or I'll sing like a fucking bird."

I KNOW! I hated how the camera kept panning to oprah... smug bitch probly thinks she won him the election.

THIS ISNT ABOUT YOU OPES, ITS ABOUT THE PEOPLE!

My favorite part was when he emphasized service. I truly hope he can inspire the American people to be of service to their country by working and educating themselves and their families, so that the strength of our nation goes back into the hands of the people.

I mean im a bit of a jaded lady and all of this has given my time to sit and reflect.

I really needed a sign of hope, and I say that having set all of the politics behind the day aside.

Today Id like to think that anything is possible.

Too bad he didn't use his human side more, Palin sealed my vote for Obama but still.
Today is just an amazing day to be American.

Once again, WORD! We were watching BBC America for the voter returns..that and flipping..but mostly staying on BBCA. Did anyone else see the ultra freakish back and forth just after McCain gave his speech? OMG, I'm going to have to see if they have it up on YouTube. They actually cut off the dude in the middle of his interview because it was suddenly like he was a drug crazed, possesed by Satan freak!

Miss Priss - SO COOL that you got to be there!

I shed a LOT of tears last night. No matter who you supported, what an emotional, momentus night for the american people.

I agree with you to a point, but there is concern over Obama's stance on protectionism.
There are many who theorize that if Obama 'closes' the US' borders to (free) trade, there will be many more lay-offs in the US, not to mention the harm it could cause with current trading partners.
I know that many in Canada would welcome him re-negotiating NAFTA as Canada could greatly benefit (e.g. due to the US' dependence on our natural gas reserves, considered to be 2nd only to the middle east).

Ah well, now is not the time to debate this (I think we're all tired of debates!).

All the best to you, your partner, and your company!

This is kind of creeping me out. They wouldn't turn out like this for an alien invasion, but they're all hysterical in the streets for a fricking presidential election? And all this because he uses the word "change" and isn't GWB, which are very low standards.

This guy's the figurehead a cult. It's fricking creepy how much people adore him for no reason, before he's even done ANYTHING or proved he's any different from the thankfully-on-the-way-out Bush.

nat444, no offense to the rest of the world, but I'd take whoever could fix the damn economy regardless of what the rest of the world thinks. (Not that I think either McAncient or Obama-nation could manage it...)

Hopefully things will start to evolve in the United States now that Bush is on his way out and McBush is NOT on his way in for 4 more years of the dark ages.

We are far behind the UK, but i think now with new leadership and new ideas, we can become what we were destined to be in the 3rd millennium.

LoLo, snowpiece: 85% of Manhattan voted for Obama! No wonder everyone I saw this morning was smiling...

93% of Washington DC voted for him. That is absolutely staggering.

I agree with some in that Obama shouldn't be put on a pedestal as that's dangerous, he's just human after all and has a lot of challenges ahead, probably some of the worst any president has ever faced but he will do a lot to improve America including generating inward investment. For example I'm a small business owner in the UK and my business partner and I have been thinking about expanding into New York for the past year but the Republicans and the ever angry Christian right quite frankly scared us and the perception over here was that their type of thinking was taking over.

Our business is advertising/pr based and our industry is more liberal as my company is. Obama's victory has made America a more welcoming place for foreigners and we plan to do a fact-finding trip next year to see if we can set up and hire some good people in New York. I'm sure we're not the only one's who now see America as a place to do business again. Congrat's again!

Yep. I work in the banking industry, & it's uber conservative. But you know what? I don't care! At least people voted! They showed, in record numbers, that they cared enough to make their voices heard, & that's HUGE!!!!

The first President I was able to vote for was Bill Clinton ( I was 18 at the time ). This is the second time that I actually was excited about voting for a President-that he actually cared about the issues I cared about, and that he is sincere about what he plans to do. I do not think the man has a hidden agenda-a la Bush.
This country is ready for change. And Obama will change this country-for the better.
