Ashley talks to Diane Sawyer on "20/20" this Friday and she also gave an interview and bj to People. Ashley says she's done with the whore game, but obviously she's not done profiting off of it. She says, "I'm 23 years old. I want to do music, to do fashion, to write books – there's so many things." 23?! In Kim Zolciak years, right? And by "do," she really means "do." Cut to Ashley rubbing her bits on a Forever 21 scarf.
Ashley also claims she had no idea who that Eliot Spitzer dude was when she got spitzed by him. "Some guys, they want to have conversations and really get to know each other. With him, it clearly was not like that. It was more of a transaction. Strictly business. I was there for a purpose – not to wonder who [he] could be."
What's the point of that shit?? If I was a hooker (one that gets paid, at least) I'd do background checks on all my johns! It's all about add-ons. Get paid to open your mouth and then get paid even more to keep it shut afterwards! Any good whore knows the art of blackmail!

I used to think there was nothing wrong with whatever happened between two consenting adults regarding prostitution. Then I found out my husband of 11 months had been visitng escorts like Ms. Dupre here for 4 out of the 5 years we were together. (We dated for 4 years before we got married) Not only was he doing this for 4 years but with over 40 prostitutes. I had to get tested for all the diseases, twice. Nothing is more depressing than going into a clinic to be tested for STDs especially HIV when you thought as a married woman you would never have to worry about those things anymore.
I blame the men mostly but the prostitutes are disgusting. I have sympathy for the poor girls that are forced into this lifestyle but Ms. Dupre had choices. She was obviously making enough money to get a boob job and rhinoplasty so to say she was doing it to survive is a load of crap! I think it should stay illegal and I think cops should do a better job of tracking these whores down off the internet. Not only for the public health aspect but also because the lucrative nature of on-line escorts causes men/pimps to kidnap young girls and force them into this modern day slavery. I also think the media should have enough decency to not give this whore anymore free publicity. Ok, soapbox ending.

Good points. I think the big probs with Spitzer were (a) he used to prosecute prostitution crimes--all those convictions are now in disarray; (b) he may have used state funds or time for the assignations; and (c) he wasn't an ordinary Joe--he was Gubner and charged with enforcing the law.

I question the scope of public rage directed at public figures partaking in whores or adultry. These crimines generally involve a handful of consenting adults.
Prostitution isn't the highest form of human endeavor. And the betrayal/health concerns for spouses are clear.
Yet public figures commit far worse crimes -- sometimes even resulting in death of innocent people and outright theft of taxpayer money (just a few examples). Public outrage in these situations is usually delayed and diffuse.
The reactions seem out of proportion and confused. imho

Joe, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, I have been to the red light district in Amsterdam, and although prostitution is legal there, that doesn't prevent human trafficking. Many of the women in the window brothels are lured to Holland under false pretenses (promises of jobs working in hotels, etc., etc.) and then forced into prostitution. I will never forget the misery I saw when I looked into their eyes.

What I notice in your argument and many of those that centre around prostitution is that they seem to focus on the customer, the man - and by extension, his partner. And of course this is a legitimate health and I guess, moral concern.
However, most people don't bother to look at it from the *whore's* point of view. Most little girls don't grow up aspiring to sell themselves on a street corner. It is something that the majority of women are forced into, because they have to feed either a drug habit or kids or...whatever. Many *whores* are run-aways who were abused as kids. Obviously Ashley Dupré is a very lucky exception.
So we can sit and pontificate about the morality of it all, but the reality is that men will always buy sex and we shouldn't demonize the women who provide it. Yacking about it isn't going to make it go away. If anything we should be asking how we can regulate it for the physical safety of the women who provide it and their customers (and by extension, their spouses)

I have mixed feeling about prostitution,I think it is the right of the person male or female, to do what they want with their bodies.On the other hand, a lot of prostitute are taken advantage of; have child abuse and substance abuse in their past. I don't know if there is a solution to this problem unless the poor are helped so that they don't have to result to selling their "BUNS" as a choice.
