The Return Of No Doubt
Gwen Stefani is making good on her promise that No Doubt will record a new album and go on tour. I think she made that promise like 3 years ago or some shit, but it's better late than never! On their official website, they posted this picture along with a little iChat conversation between the band members. Basically, they are going to take their shit on the road next year while working on their first album together in seven years. The last time they performed on stage together was in 2004.
Gwen has been busy making babies with funny names, putting out her own albums and working on some fashion shit.
Fuck yes. I can't wait to go to this shit. I just hope there's a bunch of 30-something hos who pay homage to vintage Gwen by wearing zipper pants, furry bra tops, suspenders and Frankenstein boots. Oh and don't forget the rockabilly hair and bindi.
Now if only No Doubt can get Garbage, Alanis Morissette, Joan Osbourne, Paula Cole, Fiona Apple, Tracy Bonham, The Cardigans and Meredith Brooks to perform with them. Actually, I think I went to a show in L.A. in the late 90s where all those bitches performed together. Aw. Those were the days when I was a little homo who really wanted to be an angsty lezzie.

I sure hope they don't change much. They really did evolve as a band from album to album but their roots remained ska/punk and Im praying they keep that aspect. What else would they do go pop/rnb/trash like Gwen did? I hope not

I've been playing all my No Doubt CDs non stop this month. There had to be a reason because I hadn't listened to them in years. Time for Gwen to get off the solo bandwagon and get back with her boys! I'm excited!
Damn, after reading some of the comments, I had no idea she was that bad. I believe it though. Anytime you see a singer abandon their band for a solo gig, is all about ego. What does the band do when you go out there and do your own thing? They all got into it together and she just left them to do one album which turned into two. The othes have to eat too. I was very disappointed when she did that second album. Didn't much like the first one

Sad, but I think I'm more surprised now when I hear that a 'star' is humble, courteous, etc.
She wasn't that kind of diva. She was sort of high-strung, demanding, irrational, etc. Her politics are to the left of left and she has strongly pronounced ideas on the role of art vs. commerce.

Seriously though... come to think of it, maybe my judgment was clouded at the time. Back then, I was even more judgmental than f*cking Danny Humphrey, but I just cannot shake off that impression.
Gwen was pretty young when I had that feeling. Another thing I remember from that MTV segment was that they seemed to spend very little time with the other band members. Maybe they already knew the Diva would surpass them all in fame back then.

She was one of the "mentors" and she wouldn't say much to the contestants -- she'd just have this tight little grimace on her face like she was politely containing her laughter. She annoys the hell out of me. She even made me dislike Bush (not the president) back in the day. She did all that just by getting with Gavin Rossdale. He seems like a jackass now so I guess that was a match made in hell. I also don't have any arguments for all this just that I am always right when it comes to hating people.
My friend met Gwen when she was 14. They were signing autographs or something and she didn't really care much for the band, but she bought her friend the latest CD and met them to get it signed. She was pretty stoned at the time and when the time came to get it signed, she told the guitarist or bassist (Gwen's boyfriend at the time) that he was a good drummer. The band members all laughed, and Gwen said, "oh yeah he's a really good drummer, too!" and was really nice about it, as opposed to her boyfriend who rolled his eyes. Gwen is pretty nice to her fans overall, but honestly, No Doubt is a pretty shitty band and Gwen by herself was pretty bad too. But at least she does what she likes...

i had the same experience with miss "i'm so badass" i went to see her at the Shorline in Ca. Bitch is in love with herself. She kept on looking at her belly in every mirror, and wasn't interested in anyone. Agreed with the Tony Kanal thing also. He's kind in his own world. The other tow are awesome, they did take pics, fooled around and were very nice to everyone.
This said, i think i just went pee pee in my chonies. I love them. This time i'll make sure i'll get a $135 L.A.M.B wifebeater and shove down Gwen's throat.

Way back when I was a kid, No Doubt was playing in my - 3rd world country - and our MTV went to hang out with them before the show, do some interviews and generally help promote their asses.
Gwen was such a f*cking b*tch to the interviewer, I will never forget that sh*t. She seemed to be there just due to contractual obligations, because she certainly carried herself in a way that gave it away that she definitely thought herself better than the people of such a poor nation.
I was glad my parents had enrolled me in several English (and French too) courses then, because I could understand what her moronic ass was saying without the benefit of subtitles. She will never fool me!
No Doubt was ass then and still is now as far as I am concerned.
