Keane - I can see how putting her to work thinking that it would be good for her would be the goal. But that's not the only thing she could do. That is what got her into trouble in the first place. I have to disagree with you that some people are just doomed with whatever label some psychiatrist has slapped onto them. There are so many people with what was deemed extremely severe personality disorders who have been completely turned around - WITHOUT DRUGS - by the right therapist. There are some therapists who are HORRIBLE and make people worse! She has the money, so she has access to the best therapy that money can buy. Psychologists such as Ken Burns who wrote the book "Feeling Good" - he is one of the best of the best and helps people without the use of those poisonous "happy pills." Also, Dr. Drew Pinsky is an incredibly gifted therapist. She has the money to become one of his clients and he would be able to help her immensely. She should be working on how to learn new emotional coping skills with an excellent therapist, learning good parenting skills and doing music on the side. Not going on an effing world tour!

The problem with my bf's aunt is that SHE wanted the career in entertainment and think that it's what her son wants. So she makes "sacrifices" for his "dreams" and nevermind what he wants nor what's good for him.

Some people are completely delusional. Spears probably thought that Britbrit WAS getting an education - in the one thing that her daughter "wanted" aka entertainment.

I watched this performance last night on X Factor and it was truly sad to watch. She is clearly not mentally fit enough to even cope with the (not-much-dancing) routine choreographed for her. The routine mainly involved standing with arm movements but she was obviously struggling to even remember this. Her timing was all off. From someone who was once an amazing dancer (if not singer) it was truly sad to watch her struggle to cope with such basic steps. In the 3 question interview which followed she hardly managed to say anything except "awesome" and it was obvious she's still not all there. The medication she must be on to keep her going schizo must be pretty strong.

In Daddy Spear's defence, I think the idea of getting her back to work was to give her some routine and something practical to focus on - something important for people with mental illnesses. But she is clearly not up to it yet. Problem is, if she doesn't do this, what else is there for her to do? I guess the thinking is keep her occupied and she is less likely to go mental and get into trouble, but she's not capable of doing the things she used to do any more. The problem for people with mental illnesses is there is often no solution to there issues as much as people try to create them. A girl I was friends with when I was around 8 or 9 has manic depression and is incapable of working, all she does is manically write all night long when she can't sleep. Her CPN thinks she may not get any better for decades, there is no easy fix. And I don't think there's one for Britney either.

And as for the famewhoring with Paris and Lindsay, I'd just like to point out that that was apparently the idea of her then manager who thought it would be good to get Britney out photographed on the social scene to reignite her career post giving birth to 2 kids. Obviously another seriously fucked up idea in a history of fucked up ideas dreamed up by her management. And I'm afraid I don't think Britney has ever had the intelligence or media skills to make serious decisions about her career so will just go along with what she's told. She was a product and nothing more and now the product has broken it just doesn't work any more.

Plus there are some people who go into teaching for one reason and one reason only - summer vacation and they have no talent for teaching whatsoever and cannot deal with kids AT ALL. There are many many wonderful teachers and they outweigh the bad I think, but of course you always get the shitbags who just do it to get their summers off.

BTW: I'm the type of person who needs integrity in my life, so I am who I say I am in my classroom. They know that there is no fakeness to me. They know I swear, but outside, they know that I go and drink, but not until I was legal (white lie) and in moderation. They respect me more for it.

As a teacher myself and surrounded by the damn things, I know that teachers can be awesome teachers but horrible people. It's all an act anyway. My bf's aunt is doing what Lynne Spears did to his cousin. Poor thing is put into acting classes, singing classes, and ballet. The kid DOES NOT want to do it and tries to come up with excuses. He's 7. But, I hear, she's a decent teacher! As long as Mrs. Spears kept her craziness outside of the classroom, it's Kosher. I worked with a teacher who bartends on Tuesday nights, goes home, takes a shower and shows up to work shitfaced. Gets the job done and does it well because he keeps that crap outside.

Not defending the Spears clan, just letting you know that fucked up people are in all walks of life and fool us all.

SoBelle - I totally agree with you. And people were saying how wonderfuly Daddy Spears is for intervening, but if he really had his daughter's best interests at heart, why the hell is he allowing her to release an album and travel the world promoting it and going on tour? What about her mental health? Isn't going through all this what landed her in turmoil in the first place? She really does not seem to be into it this time around and there's still some major emotional issues that she needs to work out. Being surrounded by a bunch of vultures that want to make money off of her does not sound like the best thing for her by any stretch. So I HOPE doing this is not solely motivated by money. All the money in the world means nothing if you are emotionally shattered - Brit has proven that.

She ate up all that attention - even in the beginning of her breakdown - she wants to blame it all on the paps - but I seem to remember her hitting all the hotspots with Paris and Lindsay and putting herself in the way of cameras every chance she got. When she was full-blown in the middle of it, she didn't even go a LITTLE bit away - she went straight into the thick of it.

She could have quit but instead she got married.
The second time she put tonnes of energy into making her husband famous too.

She doesn't really want out. She just wants it to be easy. She figures she did all the hard stuff so why can't she just get up in the morning and it's easy? Well, I say: if it's not, it's because you don't belong there. But her ego won't have it. Ok - I do feel a little sorry for her but it's SO simple. She's just gotta make 2 or 3 grown up decisions for herself and she's free. And still rich. And still famous. But she's gonna have to make space for someone to take her place as "Queen" cuz she's just not one of them Queens who's gonna be allowed into the fight ring about it when she's sixty. I think I feel sorry for her cuz she's gonna get slapped again sooner or later, when she could just leave with some grace.

I really feel sorry for Brit. She was made into a child labor machine by Disney and Lynne Spears and made to work until her parts broke. She was robbed of a childhood and never learned how to be a person, let alone a mother. She's now a shell of a person. An empty shell. And her money's running low so her "handlers" are trying to make her into a machine again. She does NOT want to be there and these people in her life just keep forcing the issue. She is not mentally capable of making a sound decision. She was never given the tools and her brain is fried. Sad.

lizardbits, I would take kitty to the vet right away. I just got a new one myself (see pic!) and he had a horrible case of ear mites. We had to keep him and our old cat away from each other (not hard since old cat wants NOTHING to do with new baby) until the medicine kicked in.

Yup! He's named after Rod Serling of Twilight Zone fame. He has a little swirl on his side that looks like the old school version of the introduction. My boyfriend made the connection and I made the name :)

I will take him to the vet. He'll LOVE it. On the plus side, I don't have to cut his claws, the vet can do it for me.

I also have a fully grown cat, do you think she's in danger? She seems really healthy and does her usual destroy-the-house routine.

Our kitten Isabella had super goopy eyes and was sneezing a lot when we got her. Since she's usually such a little psycho, when she had no energy to play, I knew I had to get her to the vet. After a week on the drops of kitty pennicillin, she was fine.
