Jeremy Piven Is Full Of Mercury (And Shit)
Is mercury like a new fucking drug I haven't heard about. Like if you snort bad fish dust does it give you an amazing high or something? Because Jeremy Piven has dropped out of the Broadway play Speed-the-Plow because of mercury poisoning. Wait. Is that the new street name for coke? Seriously, I'm confused.
Jeremy skipped out on Tuesday's show and yesterday's matinee claiming he was feeling gross and sickly. Later on in the day, it was announced that Jeremy would not be coming back due to his doctor's orders that he stop performing in the show immediately. The show will run until February and they will announce a replacement soon.
David Mamet, writer of Speed-the-Plow and other amazing plays, joked about Jeremy bouncing out of his show early: "I talked to Jeremy on the phone and he told me that he discovered that he had a very high level of mercury. So my understanding is that he is leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer."
That wouldn't be such a bad career move seeing as though he's probably up anyone and everyone's ass any chance he gets.
I was a little confused about the whole mercury thing, so I googled some shit and found that you can get it from bad fish. That's what the douchebag gets for sucking on any dirty coochie that comes along.

Amy Wino - You are talking out of your arse. I am NOT anti-vaccine and I am not ranting either. I am merely stating a medically diagnosed fact. Both my mother and my aunt were diagnosed by medical doctors and their health problems were determined to be caused by the flu shot and DTaP. No vaccine is 100% safe and if you think that's the case you are an absolute idiot. Why else do you think you have to sign a waiver for each one that you get? The percentages are small but people do die from vaccines.
That being said, I've decided that the benefits outweighed the risks and chose to vaccinate my children. They are all up-to-date on their vaccines. Not all vaccines are equally problematic. The one's that ruined my son's life are the MMR and the flu shot. The problems with the MMR have more to do with the fact that vaccine is bundled. It would much safer to give them individually. My son will not be getting another MMR. He will be getting titres of blood tested to see if he has immunity. If he has it, there's reason to give him another shot. If he doesn't have immunity, he will be given individual shots. Even Jenny McCarthy isn't anti-vaccine. She merely wants vaccines to administered safely. I can't for the life of me figure why everyone is hating on Jenny. She's done so much as an advocate for autistic children. She's never claimed to be a doctor. She's merely recommended that you question them. That's far more intelligent than taking advice from them blindly.

Her sister developed vasculitis and nearly died from a D-TaP vaccine and has to take anti-rejection drugs for the rest of her life. My son, who is on the autistic spectrum, had damage done to his digestive tract from having too many vaccines too quickly. This is why he has problems with metal retention. He had one flu shot and has elevated mercury. The irony is that he had the flu last year and was only sick for about 3 days. If he gets a stomach virus, it lasts for 2 weeks because of his gut issues. That's a lot more dangerous than the flu.
I'm not anti-vaccine by any stretch. Vaccines save lives. They just need to be given responsibly. Vaccines shouldn't be bundled (especially the MMR). Rather than automatically giving a child a second or third shot, a blood titre should be drawn to see if immunity is present. This is a much safer option. Nocturnia - having had my son tested for mercury, I have to agree with you. It's not as easy as just taking blood test. My son had a urine test and had to take DMSA as agent to draw metals from his system. Since mercury can bind to other metals in your bloodstream, it can be very difficult to determine mercury poisoning. Piven is probably full of shit.

I used to trust doctors implicitly but have learned my lesson after nearly being killed by a person with a medical degree (not vaccine related). It's unfair to rag on Jenny McCarthy. The woman isn't claiming to be a doctor. She's merely telling you to question your doctor's advice and get other opinions from other doctors. Trusting my son's original pediatrician screwed him up. He's still seeing medical doctors NOT quacks. His doctors have concurred that his digestive problems are from vaccines. A flu shot with thimerasol will make this worse. FYI guys, I'm a nurse practitioner, and you don't just "find out" you have mercury poisoning and it isn't something that we just happen to test for. It's definitely not one of the first tests I would run if someone presented to me acutely with vague flu-like symptoms, which can happen with Mercury.
It would probably take at least a couple of days of acute illness to figure out OR an illness that has lasted awhile or required hospitalization.
So, all in all, Jeremy Piven is full of shit! And apparently, "mercury"...

See now, that's another thing we have going...we don't fuck around up in here. We don't ignore our bodies or try to suppress illness at it's first sign. I think that makes it easier for us to tell when it's serious...like the Chicken Pox (we both got, ugh!) but she got diagnosed before she had a rash only because the way she was feeling was too weird for me to think I could handle it myself....she actually developed the rash in the afternoon after our Dr.'s visit...

Our only hope is that scientists are carefully monitoring the potential for mutations.

In general, I am healthy enough to not worry about those things if it's not life threatening. I get the flu once every 5-6 years, so it seems now, and then I'm good for a while, so it is an inconvenience, but not life threatening.

People can choose whether to get it or not. I probably never will. I had the flu this year BEFORE the shots were even offered anywhere. And filaburr is right about bugs "mutating". Vacinations in general only work for a certain percentage of type of the illness. They are always evolving and learning ways to become immune to the ways that we come up with to protect ourselves.

TITS, I never said I didn't vaccinate my kids. They are all up to date on their shots, thank you. The only exception being the useless flu shot. Do some research on influenza! The virus often mutates before pharmaceutical companies can manufacture a new vaccine. That why shitloads of people who got flu shots last year got the flu. Even an infinitesimal amount of mercury is bad for a child with autism.
I hate to burst your bubble but we're overdue for a flu pandemic (usually occurs when the virus mutates in such a way that it can pass from animals to human). The flu shot will NOT provide ANY immunity in this case. Since no one believes in quarantines anymore, millions will die from a pandemic as our bodies will have no immunity.
I'm not saying no one should get the flu shot. If you must have one (e.g., asthmatics and immune compromised people) get the thimerasol-free version. That is, if you can find it.
Personally, I avoid situations where I'll be in crowded places during flu season and wash my hands constantly.

No wonder I read Broadway plays are playing to less than half-empty houses this winter. Mercury poisoning! I thought it was the other diagnosis-du-jour when you want to raid a rich patient's bank account, "zinc deficiency".
You can get mercury poisoning from contiminated fish and from vaccines. Most flu shots have thimerosal, a preservative that contains mercury. Most autistic children have elevated levels of heavy metals. My son, who is on the spectrum, has elevated levels of mercury. Since he's never eaten a piece of fish in his life, it has to be from the stupid flu shot. Flu shots are usually worthless as the virus mutates too quickly. That's exactly what happened last year. If we ever have a pandemic like 1918, flu shots aren't going to help--millions will die. Is worth it to shoot yourself up with mercury? No thanks. I'll pass on the flu shot.
