Brit Brit losing the sane in her brains has worked out well for Daddy Spears' Velcro wallet. Yesterday in Los Angeles, a judge in the conservatorship case gave him a $6k raise for being Brit Brit's mastah! Daddy was making a measly $10k a month, but now he's taking home $16,125 a month. Hey! Don't give him the side-eye and lip smack. Velveeta ain't cheap!
Daddy Spears got the raise because of all the other shit he's been doing for his daughter, besides making sure she doesn't shave her head or flash her hairless possum. Daddy has been working on her upcoming arm-waving tour for next year. The judge also approved a $1,200 a month office space for Daddy.
If that wasn't enough, Brit Brit's brother Bryan will get $200,000 from Brit Brit's piggy bank for doing stuff before the conservatorship was established.
Cue the "Brit's Pappy shood be doin' it fo' free" comments! Eff that. If you were Brit Brit's relative...well, you'd be eating a beef jerky omelet right now (delicious), but you would also gladly take her cash for keeping her crazy on the down low! Let's be real. He had to quit his life to put her life back together. She has the cash to pay him, so why the fuck not?!
I just wish he'd crack a smile once or twice now that he's got the cash in his fannypack. Naw. Daddy Spears doesn't play the smile game. I'm sure he celebrated in his own way.... like dancing with his bong. Seriously, those eyes have been touched by the green smoke.

That paltry sum for 4 years of college plus a license (you don't need a license here in CA actually, depends what you do, like if it's for substance abuse than yes, maybe, but most times you don't)...

As for your step-sister, you do what you have to do for those you love. Getting paid to help someone is sickening. I hate Daddy Spears more then the rest of them.
Court is what happens to the really kookoo and not just the worried well. The very mentally ill tend to burn their bridges and family often have to throw in the towel to keep their own sanity.
It's just in this case, there's a shitload of money involved. When the ill person is poor, they end up with some underpaid social worker taking care of them.
I'm with the person who has mixed feelings. On the one hand, it frustrates/disgusts me that this guy bailed on his family and went through his own hot mess. Now he wants to be paid to help fix the monster he helped to create.
On the other, i think her parents are just very real, ignorant, naive, backwoods-y folk who really had no clue what was going on with the "biz" and life in the fast lane from the get-go. I think they probably had no clue what they were doing wrong, no clue about the symptoms of her crazy (as opposed to blaming it all on youth or partying or whatevs) And in a way, it's nice to see him cleaned up and ready to start the next chapter as being her father and stuff. I mean, he's def helped her get her shit together. And I'm sure Brit wants to work and stuff. So, I guess he's some measure of success.
I question, though, what else he would be doing if he weren't living there. i mean, his restaurant closed, right? It's prolly not like he's had to walk away from a lot. Whereas I know I would drop anything unconditionally to help my baby - but I'd also prolly have bills hanging over my head and a job I'd be losing.

Case managers around here make little more than that for a year - about $10 to $12 an hour + insurance -- and that required a four year degree, license preferred.
I've been a case manager. I would take on BritBrit in a NY minute for that pay. Even if I only lasted a month or 2, it would be like making a year's (or two!) pay. Plus, I'd prolly get to travel the world.

I was watching a documentary about parents of autistic children, and I imagine that his life must be similar to theirs. You can't rest, you are always worrying, you will never be able to kick them out of the nest and enjoy your old age.
Papa Spears take the money and set it aside for the therapy that you will one day need. It is much better for you to take it than for Brit to lavish another douche with an expensive car and jewelry.

Think about it, having to take care of her must be a 24 hour job. Hell, he can't sleep if she's not sleeping. Before he stepped back into the picture she never had a set schedule. In the morning she was doing crazy shit outside of her house, in the afternoon she did crazy shit at the store, and at night she did even crazier shit in the club.
24 hours a day times 30 days is 720 hours. Meaning at 10k, Papa Spears is making $13.88 an hour. I'm sure that he was making way more than $14 an hour as a personal chef. He was the only Spears who didn't ride Britney's coat tails, and now he's stuck taking care of her until one of them dies, or her ass finally realizes that she's at fault for some of her problems.
He may not have been the most perfect father by letting Lynn take the reigns, but he's stepping up to the plate now.
