@ christine the hoff & ocd can be good:

The parking lot bunny is fine. Grass IS what they normally eat. The rabbit might be an adolescent and therefore seem smaller than a full grown adult. Also, because it's wintertime, resources are scarce but that doesn't mean he/she won't survive.

I wouldn't recommend giving a rabbit alfalfa. Alfalfa is high in calcium and low in fiber which is not so good for growing rabbits because of their digestive system. The excess calcium can also lead to the formation of kidney stones. A great alternative is timothy hay and/or orchard grass.

@ East End Girl. Sorry to hear that. I hope you finally made it home and dried out and that the dog was okay and that he forgave you. Treats always help. I feel like a jerk because my furnace died before the holidays and then I got snowed in and didn't get gifts delivered to my parents for the family. I shall now have to overspend to alleviate my guilt. Assuming it ever stops snowing, that is. At least it's a good day for sleeping.

you can get alfalfa at any pet store, it's dirt cheap, throw some around where he hangs out, he'll be fine.

He's so sweet. A question for rabbit lovers. There's a wild rabbit at work (he's really stunted in size) and it's been snowing for a couple of weeks. He hangs around the parking lot and I saw him last night. All is covered with snow. He's usually eating the grass in the area. How long can they go without their usual food? How about water? I felt so bad for the little guy. Rain is finally predicted for today.
