John Travolta's 16-Year-Old Son Has Died
I am a zillion light years late with this, but I was traveling back from California to NYC for most of today. I know I just disappeared. I figured I'd write a note to you bitches in the terminal, but Long Beach Airport's janky ass internet was not cooperating, so I had to nix it. But here's the story. Skip it if you've heard it a million times already.
John Travolta and Kelly Preston's 16-year-old son, Jett, died in the Bahamas while he was on vacation with his family. Jett was last seen going into the bathroom in one his family's suites at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel last night. His body wasn't discovered until 10 this morning by his caretaker, Jeff Michael Kathrein. Jeff is the blondie in the picture below and he was also caught kissing on John Travolta back in 2006.
TMZ says that the police report states Jett suffered a seizure and hit his head on the bathtub. John's attorney said his son died at the scene after attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. His attorney also said that Jett had a history of seizures.
There were rumors that Jett was Autistic, but John has always denied this and even threatened to sue over it. John said Jett had Kawasaki Syndrome, a disorder that can lead to heart disease. Kelly Preston later blamed household cleaners for all of Jett's health problems. She said one of L. Ron Hubbard's detoxification programs helped Jett.
An autopsy is being performed on Jett to find the exact cause of death.
I'll admit that when I first heard about this, the word "Scientology" came at me in big evil letters, but we won't know anything until the autopsy. When I was on the plane, the women behind me were watching this story on Larry King and totally saying all this crazy shit. People were totally giving them the side-eye. They should've wrote this post. All I know is that this sad all around and I will leave it at that.

They're always happy to show off their daughter, but not so proud of their other "normal" child. He was autistic and they weren't taking care of him because L.Ron said not to.
If there was that much time between anyone checking on him and when he was found, I'm more than slightly leaning toward them doing that isolation in a locked room thing $cientologists do when people aren't behaving the way they like. Many of them, especially if they've been neglected for a while or have pre-existing conditions, tend to die during the process.

I hear that. I'm like that too. I'm just lucky o have a kid that's like that too. Yeesh sometimes (even at 10) she's TOO clingy - I'm like LET GO, DAMMIT! But I know enough to know how lucky I am.
And, actually, that used to be the biggest safety advice I remember from years ago. Most serious accidents happen at home and most of those in the bathroom. I never let the kids hang in the bathroom for too long like that - becuz of THAT. I'm always checking every couple of minutes...she's younger than him but I can't imagine that will change much. The main thing is that my kid is so loud 24/7, as soon as she gets quiet I check her - ESPECIALLY in the bathroom. That's really bothering me.

Ok..and my last point..lol. My son is 13. And yes, I know that boys want privacy and all that..but trust me. If a boy is quiet and not in your sight, he's doing something. And it's probably something that'll get him in trouble. So call me obsessive mom, but there's no way my child would be out of my sight for that long..it just wouldn't happen. I'm all up in his business and when he gets mad about it, I tell him that when he's 18, he can get his own bathroom and hang out in there all day if he wants. Same goes for the bedroom, den, whatever. I should be able to do a check-up on him whenever I want. That's the rules in this house. Oh, and NO door locking at night. It's hard to pick locks in the dark..lol. =)

Hell, my one year old who used to cling to me now itches to get down and run around. I'm dismissed!
So ok-- I get people thinkin it's weird he was unsupervised for how long (or had minders and was found after how many hours) My husband installed a rail one i was really preggers and almost wiped out in the shower a few times. I just never imagined someone hitting their head in there and dying.

idk..but one day my hubby was super drunk and fell head first out of the walk-in shower right onto our tile floor..his face/forehead hit the tile and his eye/side of his face hit the wall and left a big dent. Now so ya'll know, he weighs around 230..so he's a big boy. I ran in there and was like wtf? and he looked up at me and his damn eye was already purple/black. Now that's a hard ass hit. Of course, he's a grown man..with lots of alcohol in his system..and he's used to that type of shit. But it's so hard to believe that hitting your head on a tub could result in death. But I guess it depends on where you hit, how hard, etc. Idk..but my hubby survived with only an embarrassing black eye and a lifetime of me telling his drunken shower story. The end.

And one of the news media channels released an interview with some doc who basically said that the travolta's are full of bs because jett would not have any lasting "mental" conditions from kawasaki disease. She said that it could affect the heart long term but not anything related to the brain or anything that would cause long term seizures.

Sheeps-Yeah, I'd say you're right. If he didn't get treatment for Kawasaki's, then he could've had heart issues, but I don't think that's what led to his death. Seems he had a "history" of seizures (probably due to autism, imho), but that still begs the question why he was alone & no one checked on him.
When I did research on Kawasaki's, I found that Kelly Preston blamed the cleaning chemicals used in her house as causing the disease (even though there's no scientific link) & so has been using natural & "organic" products ever since.
If Jett needed help, I wish he would've received it without some freak-o religion standing in the way.
Poor John & Kelly. My heart goes out to them, regardless of their beliefs.

This is a tragic story. as much as I hate scientology and all the turds that follow it, no one can say his death was due to the religion or his parents lack of accepting his disability. my best friend has a daughter who is severly, off the charts autistic. she takes great care of her and has overwhelming medical and educational care. if someone called me and said she had a seizure and passed away, god forbid, i would not blame her. i do blame the travolta's for not being honest and helping the cause by stating their child was impaired because of carpet and cleaning solutions. if anyone has a child in los angeles with autism, it is a KNOWN fact their child was autistic. so sad that he had to die but maybe now they will speak out. but zenu will not approve and they will have to suffer with the support of those god awful people who live in denial. they will have to live with the guilt and denial forever.

It must be a horrific tragedy when a parent has to bury their child. I know what my mother went thru when my brother died so I feel a bit of sympathy for the Travoltas. What angers me is that this boy was never given the chance for a normal life and never had the opportunity to live up to his potential. Not because his parents couldn't afford the best medical care for him rather they chose not to seek any help as it went against their COS belief. How in the hell do you not notice that a child who is prone to seizures is not around for over ten hours? Where was his "carer" aka John's knobpolisher. Where were his parents? If this would have happend to some working class parents, believe me, they would be being grilled at the local police station.

Tragic and utterly devastating. My prayers and condolences go out to the entire family. Religion aside, no parent, I don't care who you are, should ever have to outlive their children. I've seen that type of devastation first hand and I wouldn't wish it on Elizabeth Hasselback, and I can't stand that bitch.
