John Travolta's 16-Year-Old Son Has Died
I am a zillion light years late with this, but I was traveling back from California to NYC for most of today. I know I just disappeared. I figured I'd write a note to you bitches in the terminal, but Long Beach Airport's janky ass internet was not cooperating, so I had to nix it. But here's the story. Skip it if you've heard it a million times already.
John Travolta and Kelly Preston's 16-year-old son, Jett, died in the Bahamas while he was on vacation with his family. Jett was last seen going into the bathroom in one his family's suites at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel last night. His body wasn't discovered until 10 this morning by his caretaker, Jeff Michael Kathrein. Jeff is the blondie in the picture below and he was also caught kissing on John Travolta back in 2006.
TMZ says that the police report states Jett suffered a seizure and hit his head on the bathtub. John's attorney said his son died at the scene after attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. His attorney also said that Jett had a history of seizures.
There were rumors that Jett was Autistic, but John has always denied this and even threatened to sue over it. John said Jett had Kawasaki Syndrome, a disorder that can lead to heart disease. Kelly Preston later blamed household cleaners for all of Jett's health problems. She said one of L. Ron Hubbard's detoxification programs helped Jett.
An autopsy is being performed on Jett to find the exact cause of death.
I'll admit that when I first heard about this, the word "Scientology" came at me in big evil letters, but we won't know anything until the autopsy. When I was on the plane, the women behind me were watching this story on Larry King and totally saying all this crazy shit. People were totally giving them the side-eye. They should've wrote this post. All I know is that this sad all around and I will leave it at that.

and the kid wasn't on anti-seizure medication because xenu says you can't do that????
Instead of playing the blame game and being so concerned with what the media thought, they should've focused more on the well-being of the son. Not saying they were horrible parents but come on!
Either way, it's very sad all around.

Why do you need a caretaker for your vacation home if it's in a hotel/resort? I don't understand rich people, I guess.
The Kawasaki syndrome is in children under 8 usually - that Backstreet Boy's kid just had it and he's fine already - they were on Larry King with him.
Poor Jett may have had that as a child but it shouldn't have been relevant at 16.
Something isn't right with Kelly anyway. Gotta be a reason Charlie Sheen shot her years ago.
If they could have prevented their son's death, I think they'll suffer with that knowledge for the rest of their lives.
Have you noticed that all the big scienos are putting their kids in their movies nowadays: Will Smith, Tommy, Travolta's daughter? What's up with that?

OMG. I can picture it now... they was tryin to brain fuck you!! Dude, you gotta check yourself for the warning signs that they has taken over your brain!
Have you found yourself irresistably compelled to give them money since then? Do you use the word glib a lot now?? Have you found yourself wanting to buy yourself a spacecraft????
P.S. Kudos to you with the Katrina thing :) Good job.

Sad. I know a lot of us probably saw this one coming. Fucking $cienos. Please get a god damned clue for the sake of your kids.

If you don't leave so I can spend some quality time with my man, next I'll show you my pooter.
I had one more observation.
Why is John's ATTORNEY making statements on behalf of the family? Why not a spokesperson, manager, publicist, etc.?
I'm sure Jenny McCarthy is going to be all over the shit.

Welcome, grapedrink! Kudos to you for helping out with Katrina. That $ceino thing is beyond creepy!
hey guys...i'm from Mississippi...i lived and worked for one of the counties on the Miss Gulf Coast during Hurricane Katrina...those zombie-eyed scientologists were in our courthouse in yellow T-shirts with their Scientology logos trying to give us massages while we worked to find out whether people were alive and how to get them food and shelter...they wouldn't leave us alone either...they did this creepy, way-too-long stare that made you want to run to the emergency operations shower to wash the dirty off of you...
of course we were polite to them, and i guess i can thank them for providing a wealth of comic relief for about three weeks...honestly,they were kind of dim-witted in the social intelligence category...they weren't real sly in detecting sarcasm...
every time me an unsuspecting friend would walk past, i'd make sure to tell them how much my friend would LOVE a massage...hehe
it's not that they didn't care, it's just they didn't get it...apparently, just like the Travoltas didn't get this child's illness...
these folks are worse than Southern Baptists...

"Fair enough, my two autistic kids aren`t too keen on going to the mall or a concert either, but to me Travolta looked uncomfortable in the video. Not uncomfortable and concerned for his son, but uncomfortable and embarrassed, like "man, i hope he doesnt do nothing too crazy til i have him in the car."
********************************
I noticed that too. It was disturbing. They both looked worried.

Oh I didn't mean they weren't taking him on social outings out of the kindness of their hearts...they probably were embarrassed...and little did they know they actually were keeping him happy. I didn't even know they had a son. I'm not sure why they couldn't accept him and become advocates and spokesmodels, much like Jenny McCarthy has done.
I think it's sick that they are using Kawasaki as a way to disguise his autism. It makes me sick when the parents of the students I have label their child as OHI when honestly autism should be the primary label. But it carries a certain stigma...much like a DD/ID/MI/EMH label. OHI just sounds better. And for status driven parents like the ones I work with, saying their kid is OHI is better than saying their kid is mentally impaired with autism.
I have so many things to say.. So I'm going to say this when does Religion cross the line. RIP Jett.
R L Hubbard was a total jerk.

Cone one guys... a lot of us are parents on here. Even those who are not... holding a kid's hand who is not disabled (or is...) at the teen years is not weird.
**********************************
I don't mean "weird" like bad. I mean - it's not common. Mostly, cuz they won't let you. And I was only saying that because it seemed to me if they'd do that - they'd watch him closely at other times too...
Actually, I'd been gone for a bit and didn't realize everyone else was saying that too...
I'm sorry for your own loss too.

I wonder if Nancy Grace is going to cover this story?
I'm here, Pauly. What's up, Babyboy?
I'm in the moon thread because no one feels the Pauly love here 'leash. Come join!
Pauly? You still around? Just came back on for a quick sec. I see a new posting's up.
RIP, Jett.
Cone one guys... a lot of us are parents on here. Even those who are not... holding a kid's hand who is not disabled (or is...) at the teen years is not weird. What the hell.. ok mine is still a baby but I KNOW that age will not matter. I will hold his hand b/c I love him at any age! And esp, if he has a disability i will to reassure him.
I need to get the heck off this thread.. not b/c any one here but as a mom (who already freaks about this scary fucuked up world) I cannot stay in this place where someone lost a child so quickly. I lost a cousin who was 22 , choked on vomit from adverse reaction to meds (no one expected it) and we were in the room next to him when it happened. Imagine what his parents felt... I will never forget my aunt finding him. It was the most horrific sound I ever heard..
Sorry all I love ya but this is too close right now.

That is what I find really strange. Those suites can't be that big that it would take you hours to check on your child. Even if he didn't have a problem, wouldn't you just check to make sure your kid's are in bed
?

Yeah, dude. I got Mama radar. It's not perfect but I ALWAYS err on the side of caution, you know?
I watched that vid - it's weird to hold your teenage son's hand. If they did that just to get to the car you'd think they'd watch him closely when he showers...

I am in no shape or form saying John revolta didn't love his son, all I am saying is that "NO So called religion" is going to determine if my kid needs help or not.
These people are Brainwashed! and now a kid is Dead, a kid that probably could have been helped
How sad.
I'm so sorry for everyone who loved him.

That is what I find really strange. Those suites can't be that big that it would take you hours to check on your child. Even if he didn't have a problem, wouldn't you just check to make sure your kid's are in bed? Especially one who has had seizures. I am not saying they did anything wrong, I just think it is strange that a caretaker found him.
So none of the Travoltas gets up to pee in the middle of the night? They all must wear pull-ups. I am so pissed that that poor kid layed in there all night, dying alone. awful. *sob*
Oh- and you parents that have kids with 'autism' ( i say that as medical diagnoses are always changing) DO understand that we used to think the earth was flat. So... point is... we change, learn a lot and well... my child is not autistic but I know kids who are diagnosed with that and well... lots I read about them being on a higher vibration, perceptive and having a different 'filter' if you will.
I;m not in the medical field but I feel these kids are beyond understanding and are just ...well... more developed than us?
Anyway.. just a feeling I get with this higher rate of reported autistic kids. Thank god it seems parents now are more involved and not prone to putting these special children in homes.
I think they are somehow high attuned.. sorry rant over..
xoxox
God bless this kid and his family dealing with this.
"I don't think a parent holding his disabled son's hand is creepy. I think it shows a great deal of love and caring."
Agree 100%. My heart breaks for John Travolta, he must be devastated.
YOu know if someone saw him go into the bathroom HOW MANY HOURS (sorry, Kanye took over my laptop for a sec) and knew he had seizures, why didn't anyone check on him? Like at bedtime? WTF!
It seems Travolta really loved his son, he is always holding his hand and acting so attentive towards him..perhaps they kept him out of the spotlight to spare him the scrutiny he would receive. As a mom this makes me really sad.

Did anyone else notice that in the 2nd picture posted, John is holding his son's hand? His son must have been 15 or 16 when that picture was taken ... I am sure Autism can explain why a grown man is holding the hand of his teenage boy (and yes, even if the kid is his son, that is creepy)."
I don't think a parent holding his disabled son's hand is creepy. I think it shows a great deal of love and caring.
I'm sure Jett had a lot of anxiety issues, and he looks worried in that photo. I'm sure John's holding his hand helped him stay calm.

I live in Boston; there's a crazy cult worship place on washington st.
I was interested in these crazy cult for a while and I took a personalitty test online, they have all kind of crazy questions, like if I had ever killed a baby or if if I killed anybody in my dreams in detail, when it came time to the results they gave me the adress, I went but I never got the guts to go in, those fuckers are scary.
Jett never got any help, not because they don't accept Autistic kids, just because they don't believe in Psychiatric help for anything.
as a mother this is unspeakable. I always said something happens to my kid do not expect me to stick around. I still mean that to this day. Sorry but I'll be checking the fuck out. The END.
No conspiracy theories, please. This is devastating. I cannot imagine.
sweet baby is in heaven.
And any parent that loses a kid, (some might be Dlisters) god bless you. But this is my achille's heel. This happens to me and I will not deal.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. I would think it was creepy if I didn't think the boy was Autistic.

I assume Jett got the treatment for Kawasaki's, so that should be a non-factor in his death.
Thanks, JoMama, for the story and link. I think the 2 most likely scenarios are Jett didn't have Kawasaki's--they just used it to explain his condition--or he had it and they refused to treat it. My half-baked understanding is they were saying recently he still had K's, which suggests they never treated it (if he had it at all).
This is so sketch. Does Xenu control CPS?

"They exclude Jett from all social events"
That's awful, but if he was autistic, they were probably doing him a favor because social situations can be hell for kids with autism.

"Good-night, sweet prince;
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
Although she is beautiful, it seemed to me that Kelly Preston had man trouble and was hard up to get married. That's just my opinion. That being said, it could be the reason she was so ready to give herself up to Revolta and his people.
RIP Jett. I'm sure the angels welcomed you to heaven.
I don't like the Travoltas, but even my cold black heart goes out to them. No parent should lose a child.

Kawasaki Syndrome symptoms don't include any form of mental retardation. Not sure if Jett had any emotional issues too, but I am sure Autism can explain why a grown man is holding the hand of his teenage boy (and yes, even if the kid is his son, that is creepy). The kid also looks to be pushing 200 lbs.
Long story short, the kid must of had some mental issues, that Scientology probably didn't fix.
On CNN they are saying he suffered the seizure in the morning, nothing saying it happened the night before. They are also quoting people in the Freeport community as saying their affection for their son was obvious and that they were always together.
When my sons were 16 I started giving them more freedom. They had their own room in hotels etc. but if this did in fact happen in the evening and he wasn't found until 10am, that is a bit too much.
Ya know how everyone forms a first impression? You hear something and your mind says "oh, well that was...." and no matter how we try to see different sides and wait for the facts, common sense, factual information and life experiences inform that first opinion.
I agree with everyone here. There is something seriously seriously wrong, and the thing I kept thinking was, at least now Jett is free. Rest in Peace, little one.
la cucaracha, yep, Scientology is that bad. Google Lisa McPherson or Paulette Cooper for an example of what they believe is standard operating procedure. (Ms Cooper's book is on the web on her site, these are backed up facts.) I hope one person, just one, who went in for a "personality test" and was thinking they might, just might go for a course, sees this and runs, not walks, the other way.

Honestly Officer...
"They exclude Jett from all social events"
That's awful, but if he was autistic, they were probably doing him a favor because social situations can be hell for kids with autism.
I feel so bad every time they show the clip of JT taking his kids out of the restaurant into the sea of cameras and people. That poor kid looks like he is going to jump out of his skin and start screaming.
Also, how come all these famous scienos seem to have quite fat kids?
RIP Jett
